Default ESPN will never get hockey (Islander mockery)

Here's a link to a fan site I frequent. ESPN, and it's clueless author, did an article on John Tavares and the Islanders....you can tell the author bases most of what he writes on his perception of what this team has done over the past 2-3 yrs and not followed by fact. ESPN should either go all in on hockey or just leave us alone altogether. The problem I have with articles of this type is people believe what they read and there are some even here who will read that article and say yup..so true. Some of this is well deserved, but times..they are a changin'. Even if it were true 5 years ago, you need to change your mindset and give credit when it's due.

I don't think it's that bad. The Islanders made the playoffs this year, after missing it for five straight years, as an eighth seed. Their goaltending is a little suspect still. I could see them missing the playoffs again.

They were considered a bit of a joke before. One eighth place finish won't change that.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

No, it certainly won't. I'm a little concerned with the situation in goal. Missing out on both Schneider and Bernier killed me. I think the article is very short sighted and doesn't paint a very good picture of the overall work that has been done. While Tavares is the undisputed star on this team, he can only do so much without a good supporting cast.

They needed to upgrade in goal.

Nabakov was good during the season, but below average in the playoffs.
