Sounds like he'll be getting a second opinion from a doc in NYC on Tuesday and a decision about whether to operate will be made thereafter. Interestingly, CBS also is reporting that the Seahawks team doctor's recommendation was to not have surgery performed. Maybe that provides a little reason for optimism. CBS' report:


(07/26/13) Seahawks receiver Percy Harvin is scheduled to meet with a doctor in New York on Tuesday for his second opinion on his injured hip, reports ESPN.
Surgery clearly is an option for Harvin at this time since he's dealing with a potential torn labrum in his hip, but NFL.com reports that the Seahawks doctor's recommendation was not to have surgery.
He is currently on the PUP list and unable to practice due to the injury.
"We're going to go ahead and take it step by step," coach Pete Carroll said. "I know he was working full speed just a few days ago. But we need to take care of him. We don't know enough information."

Arrrrg ... surgery it is for Harvin. Possibly back in 3-4 months (although, personally, I'm not banking on it).
