You definitely gave up a lot of value in both trades, but I can't critique going for it. Too often poolies sit on their hands.

Mind sending posting your roster in the post itself? When I respond to these I don't copy the signatures over.

    Cheers.

    12 teams, 6 keepers (+ team)
    Points only = 1G 1A 2W 1OTL 2SO
    Weekly line-up 1Team 9Forwards 4Dmen 1Goalie
    2012-13 roster:

F- Stamkos, Malkin, Neal, Elias, EKane, Marchand, MKoivu, Eriksson, Parenteau, Huberdeau, Berglund, Atkinson
D- Yandle, Markov, JJohnson, Wisniewski, Goligoski, Nikitin
    G- Price, Ward, Fasth, Luongo
How does the team impact things? You get points for each goal, or just wins and losses?

I'd keep Stamkos, Malkin, and Price for sure. Easy top three.

After that: Kane, Neal, and Luongo.

The team counts for W (2) and OTL/SOL (1) just like real life nhl teams. We can't trade team and it cost a draft pick if we want to change it at the draft. If not, it's an automatic keeper (outside of the 6 players). Not planning to change Mtl.

Easy top 3 : Malkin, Stamkos, Price

I'm ok with : Neal, Kane

No gm ever kept 2 goalies. In fact, only 5 or 6 are kept each year.
    No way I keep 2.
Was debating over Huberdeau, Parenteau, Eriksson or Yandle as last spot.

Thanks for doing this mail bag!

Dunno if you're done with the thread, Jeff, but would love to get your thoughts on the runningmate next season for Getzlaf and Perry.

Palmeiri likely has the inside track given he performed well with them last season, but Silfverberg can't be discounted - maybe Anaheim wants the return piece to see top time.

    Your thoughts, please.

    Thanks

    Cool Pick 7

    Thanks Angus:
It's a keep 6 and I have 1st pick overall. I have tried offers of multiple players for an elite player, plus shopping the #1 pick to no avail.

With Schneider out of Vancouver, I'm thinking my top 6 are:
Backstrom, H.Sedin, Letang, Eberle, Seguin, Quick
with Luongo as #7 depending on what's available come draft time.
    Thoughts? cheers

Thanks for doing this Angus! Need help finalizing keepers.

Yahoo 14 teams H2H Keep 8. Redraft 10 every year.

Just swapped Cam Ward + 5th for Shea Weber+Varlomov+10th.

So far keepers are Malkin, Hall, Subban, Weber, Ry Miller, Dubnyk, Varlamov.

Who's my last keeper? Or do I drop one from my 7 and keep 2 from the list below? With 14 teams, likely at least 28 starting goalies are taken so keeping 3 starters is a big advantage I think.

Dustin Brown, Wheeler, Stepan, Ryan O'Reilly, Brent Burns, Justin Schultz, Carlson.

Also, I have the 14th, 15th, 16th overall picks to start off this year's draft.

I think Burns is my last keeper if he gets D eligibility this year. If not, then not so sure. I think they are all potential redrafts at 14-16th picks.

    Hey Angus,

I am trying to figure out what the best plan of attack is for team this coming year (trying to defend my championship title). My main issue is what do with a high price keeper like Corey Perry ($38)? In our league the team budget for the auction draft is $150. While I can technically keep Perry, his current price is higher than Crosby and just slightly below Malkin, Ovechkin, and Stamkos. Considering that the likes of Giroux, T. Hall, E. Stall, Kane, E. Karlsson, Subban, Webber, and Letang are available this year, I am wondering if it is better to throw Perry back in the mix and take my chances that he might go for a slightly cheaper rate? Below are my three possible options for keepers (based on contract length and rules that our league goes by) and the RFAs I have matching rights on…which option would you recommend.

    1) Keepers ($77 total cost): $73 free, 8 Spots to fill

    W-Matt Moulson $1
    W-Phil Kessel $17
    W-Corry Perry$38
    W- Chris Kunitz $5
    C-Tomas Plekanec $5
    D-Ryan Suter $1
    D- Oliver Ekman-Larsson $4
    G- Craig Anderson $5
    G-Evgeni Nabokov $1

    Or

    2) Keepers ($56 total cost): $94 free, 8 Spots to fill

    W-Matt Moulson $1
    W-Phil Kessel $17
    W- Chris Kunitz $5
    C-Tomas Plekanec $5
    D-Ryan Suter $1
    D- Oliver Ekman-Larsson $4
    D-Dustin Bufylin - $17
    G- Craig Anderson $5
    G-Evgeni Nabokov $1

    Or

    3) Keepers ($54 total cost): $96 free, 8 Spots to fill

    W-Matt Moulson $1
    W-Phil Kessel $17
    W- Chris Kunitz $5
    C-Tomas Plekanec $5
    C-Jeff Carter $15
    D-Ryan Suter $1
    D- Oliver Ekman-Larsson $4
    G- Craig Anderson $5
    G-Evgeni Nabokov $1

    RFA’s:
    Erik Karlsson
    Ryan Miller
    Derek Stephan
    Braden Hotlby
    Jakob Silverberg

    Hey Angus,

Just recently took over a team in an existing league. Mostly points-based, PIMS, shots, +/- also count.

I'd like to know your thoughts on these three players. What do you expect from them next season, how do they project longer term?

    Alex Killorn
    Cody Eakin
    Zack Kassian

    Thanks

    10 team H2H- G, A, Pts, SOG, Hits, PPP, PIM, +/-, W, GAA, SV%, SO

We keep 4 players, I have Nick Backstrom (Was), Price, Erik Karlsson, and Malkin as my keeps for next year. I have a possible trade for Rinne with Backstrom on table. Leaning toward it, would you do it?
