    Default 3rd keeper?

    Hi.

In multiyear rotoleague with 10 teams, you can keep 3 players againts 2 round penalty (e.g. someone drafted on round 4 last year will cost round 2 pick this year).

    Roster: 2C, 2RW, 2LW, 4D, 2G, 1util, 4bn.

Stats: G, A, +/-, PP, Shp, PIM, FW,BLK, Hits, Wins, saves, sv%, GAA, SHO.

Since goalies are premium I take keeper Tuukka Rask who I have been keeping for the past 2 years- it will cost me round 7 pick, another keeper will be Antti Niemi against round 6 pick.

Who should I take as third keeper?
    - Taylor Hall against round 9 pick or
    - Braden Holtby against round 8 pick?

Your bench improved. What happened to M Smith and Schenn? What were the deals?

Would you move Chara for St-Louis?
I don't play in a league with different scoring weights, but I'll go with yes. I see Chara's offensive role diminishing a bit with Hamilton + Krug.

I have a expansion keeper team that I started last summer. 11 team league, keep 16 players (with 1 rookie), and top 8F, 5D and 2G count. Because I had to draft from their scrubs, I basically have to build from scratch and cannot compete in the short-term.

Q1: At D, my keepers are Hedman, M. Reilly, Bogosian and two of Rundblad, Erik Johnson, and Dumba. Which two would you keep (thinking at least 3 years until I can compete)?

Q2: I have 1st and 3rd overall picks, and am leaning MacKinnon and Seth Jones. My D are much weaker than my forwards. Thoughts on those two targets (I assume Drouin is gone at 2nd).

    Again, appreciate your time.

    Reilly and Bogosian.

I'd go with MacKinnon and Jones. I concur.

Personally, I feel it's Hornqvist, but I'd like a second opinion.

    Thanks!
I'd say Hornqvist too, unless you really need G or SOG more than anything else.

You missed this one Jeff. You picked Marleau, McD and Granlund, and tough decision on the 4th? keeper between the above players. Thanks.

    I made 4 main deals this off-season.

    1. Mike Smith, Erik Cole and Robyn Regehr for Jhonas Enroth, Nick Foligno, PMB, 2013 1st and Brock Nelson - It's a cap league and almost every relevant team has at least a goalie, if not 2. Meaning the goalie market is a little soft.

    2. Jhonas Enroth, Andrew Desjardins, Quinton Howden and the previously acquired 2013 1st for Braden Holtby

    3. Nick Foligno, Tom Kuhnhackl and Drew Leblanc for Drew Shore and Mike Stone

    4. Brayden Schenn, Krys Barch, Brendan Shinnimin and Patrick Holland for Zack Smith, Brendan Gaunce, Matt Bartkowski, 2014 3rd, 2015 1st and 2015 3rd - when I did this deal the team I did it with was looking pretty rough. I thought the 2015 1st would give me a shot at McDavid. That's since changed and a deal that was questionable when I made it became an outright mistake.

    For Nieto, I'd dump:

    Mantha
    Jaskin
    Pulock

I may need to trade one of my expensive dmen (Edler/Enstrom/Goligoski) to get a bit of cap relief, and being a Canuck who has put up points in the past, he has fairly high trade value in my league (centered in Vancouver). If he has another bad year that value would drop.
    Edler - 40-50 every season.
He's too talented to have another down year I think. I'd keep him over the other two.

Neither Letang or Neal are ranked higher than Seguin in your Value 50 article so I'm assuming the answer is no but I could use another stud D or RW on my roster...roster is in my signature and I can only keep 10 (at least 2 D and 1G must be kept as well as representation from each FWD position...LW,C,RW)
    I'd move Seguin for Letang.

Loaded question, DP! Some specifics would be good.

Off the top of my head....

    F
    Bartschi
    Tlusty
    Duchene
    Atkinson
    Galchenyuk
    Pacioretty
    Benn
    Seguin
    Nyquist
    Edmonton's entire roster?

    D
    Hamilton
    Schultz
    Doughty
    Subban
    Gardiner
    AP

Perhaps fire me a few specific names. I could give you at least a dozen (and probably two or three) more.

What are your thoughts on Sam Reinhart?
Don't know much about Reinhart outside of the fact that he has a lot of upside.

    From that list:

    1 Gibson
    2 Markstrom
    3 Lehner
    4 Vasilevski
