As a side note... Toronto and Tampa aren't even comparable. Toronto is going to be a top 5 team in the East, and Tampa will be shit as usual because their defense is still utter shit. Tampa may have Stamkos/MSL, but that's ALL they have. Toronto has better overall depth and are a MUCH harder team to play against.

Not to derail the thread... but Toronto is a pretty solid team.
The Leafs are a playoff team.

If I had to pick eight teams from the East for the playoffs right now, I'd take:
(5) Atlantic: BOS/OTT/DET/TOR/MON [TB, BUF, FLA... out]
(3) Metro: PIT/NYR/WAS [PHI, NYI, NJ, CAR, CBJ... out]

I kinda feel Toronto has gotten past the Curse of the Playoffs too. I think the've made enough quality moves to be a playoff team going into the season...question still remains...just where will the finish within the top 8?

Ottawa I also feel is going to be sneaky this year. The addition of Ryan and a full healthy year from Karlsson and Anderson (getting the thread back on track ) is going to be paramount for the Sen's this year. Enter in the young guns who are a year older and a year more mature... Damn...I'm going to love to hate BigEv's Sens again this year! Atleast Alfie is gone. That makes them more tollerable immediately for me! lol
