Just outside the top 4 forwards so his pt upside is limited right now until one of Hossa and Sharp leaves the team. You'll notice he was doing well when Sharp was out of the lineup. Not a coincidence.
Was hoping to reach out and get people's thoughts on Saad going forward. Will he be in the top 6 in Chicago next season? What is his fantasy upside - next season and beyond?
Thanks!
Think like a man of action, and act like a man of thought.

Well I see the top two lines shaping up like this in Chicago...
Bickell-Toews-Kane
Saad- Sharp-Hossa
So he should be a safe bet for 45-55 points next season.
I think he will be a 60-65 point guy in 2 or 3 years from now.
Think Shane Doan in his prime as far as offensive upside.
Saad will definitely be in top 6 this year and I agree that he will be around 65 pts in a short amount of time
Saad is built to be a top 6 player. If he is not in the top 6, he will not succeed. He seemed to be at his best when he could use his speed to really create for other guys on his line but he also has a wicked shot. It was pretty awesome watching him develop confidence over the course of the season where he started out as just a dump and chase type player to a guy who was willing to take some chances with the puck and make a move. It's hard to believe that this kid is only 20 years old and basically jumped straight from the OHL to the NHL. He still has a lot of growing to do and I would love to see him start to get a little more physical out there.
60-65 points is a reasonable and conservative prediction but it would not surprise me to see him jump into that 70-75 point range with a career year in the 80's

I don't know what his upside is but I think ever saying he will replicate Shane Doan is expecting a lot. It's very tough to get points in today's NHL. I look at Ryan who has had one season of 70 points and it makes me sceptical on the non-star types like Saad.

I expect Saad to get traded along with McNeil to Buffalo for Miller. jk.
Saad will be a good second line player with some powerplay time. 45-60 would probably be a conservative estimate for the future.

Sharp will not be the #2 C. He hasn't played that position since 2010. The #2 Center will be some mix of Pirri, Handzus, Kruger, or Shaw.
Most likely this will push Saad to a 3rd line wing position to start the year. However Saad should get a lot of top 6 minutes with Q's frequent line juggling and Hossa and Sharp's injury time.
40-50 pts for next season sounds about right.
I completely disagree with the idea that Saad will only succeed in a top 6 role. Saad is a strong skater with speed who goes to the dirty areas. He drives the net fiercely and does not back down from contact. He is the kind of player that can fit on any line. Ideally, I would like to see Saad on the 3rd line role with Kruger and Shaw.

I like Saad for 50-55pts. He clicked very well on the top line.
I don't think CHI will stray far from what worked.
Saad - Toews - Hossa
Sharp - Pirri - P.Kane
