Default Bailey or Killorn: gotta drop one

I need to grab a D off the wire and these two are my last fwds.

Not one to lose sleep over, but who's the best bet for this coming season?

I'm thinking Killorn since he looks like a good fit in the top six, but Bailey's extension says top six minutes and he could finally have turned the corner.

    thanks!

I would roll the dice on Bailey in hopes that he has turned the corner, and that the extension that he signed is a commitment from the Isles that they see him as a top six forward.

Killorn has a ways to go, and I would be very surprised if he skates on a line with Stamkos and St. Louis at any point...Tampa has a lot of similar prospects so it's a crapshoot as to who sticks and who plays in the AHL. With Bailey, you know he will play on Long Island for the full season.

Interesting tidbit.... Killorn is a month older than Bailey. Who would have guessed?

Give me Bailey between the two. The extension shows confidence from the Isles, while at this point Killorn is just one of many similar prospects in the Lightning system. He might prove himself, or he might be passed by Johnson, or Palat, or Connolly, or Kucherov.

I don't buy Bailey as more than a 50 point player he's way too inconsistent. But 50 points is useful and you at least know what you're getting with Bailey, roughly at least.

Killorn led the entire team in shots, goals, points per 60 min. Short sample size but solid from a rookie. He may be a great fit woth Stammer/Marty and looks like he belongs. His coach knows and loves him and called him a "cant miss" prospect. Here's a nice write up on him:

He's my choice to roll the dice on at this point, but would love to hear some more opinions from the Bailey camp.

I've probably seen a lot more of Bailey, but I just like what I've seen (and heard) on Killorn. It's definitely a tough choice, and Bailey probably has a higher raw upside, but Killorn really showed what he's made of last year. Some uncertainty surrounds both players -- will Bailey reach upside/ who does he play with? Is Killorn a top6 forward with TB's deep prospect coffers? -- but as of now I think Killorn is the safer option.

It's close, but I prefer Killorn.

Agree 100% with this post (minus the manure part)!

I have watched a ton of TB games and Killorn is a lock for top six duty, seriously. The other prospects are just that, prospects. Killorn has size and skating ability and probably most importantly hockey IQ. He was on the ice when the game was on the line with all the big guns.

I really like TB's prospects, but they are not going to play in the top six next year. Killorn is.

Bailey is in the mix for a top six job, but not a lock. I am not as convinced of his skill as Killorn.

For me, easily Killorn over Bailey.

I can't see it this year, at least not on the first unit. Second unit, definitely.

Last year, the top PPTOI forwards were Stamkos, St. Louis and Purcell, then Lecavalier, Malone and even Conacher had more Avg PPTOI than Killorn.
