Not much to report, mostly cause nothings been reported elsewhere. He suffered a torn ACL in January so you gotta expect he'll be fine for October. The typical recovery time for that injury is 4-6 months.
Early reports out of Colorado are that theyre going to try Ryan O'Reilly on LW with Duchene and Parentaeu, which would unfortunately mean the Landeskog-O'Reilly-Downie trio that did so well 2011-12 wont start the year together.
The other speculative line combos were;
Landeskog-Stastny-Tanguay
McGinn-Mackinnon-Downie
This wasnt just fans and writers speculating, Patrick Roy flat out told the media this is what he has planned. That said, training camp hasnt even started and a lot can happen between now n then so who knows how it looks on opening night.
I traded for Downie on the cheap a month ago, always liked him as a player and especially as a PIMs stud. Expecting a solid bounce back season; 40pts, 150+ Pims. His PIM numbers havent been great in Colorado but I figure with so many small skilled guys like Duchene, Parenteau, Mackinnon, Tanguay, etc...Downie's gonna have a hard time keeping his cool when 1 of them gets run and he's the only guy on the ice willing to throw down. Won't hurt having a couple tough guys like McLeod and Bordeleau on the bench watching his back either.
