Default What elite player gets the most points next season?

I have the #1 pick overall in my draft in October and I'm trying to figure out who to pick. Help! Our pool only counts points.

Crosby easily for me, even with the potential health risks.

Crosby is the most obvious but he's only won one Art Ross in 8 seasons! Our format is 2D, 1 LW, 1 C, and 1 RW so with centers so strong I'm more apt to go with a winger at 1. Ovechkin seems the safest and he finished with 33 points in his last 20 games last season, so maybe now he's totally adjusted to Oates system and RW?!

4 seasons he was over 100, and the other 4 he was well under, mind you last season was a 48 game schedule. I did have him for his career high of 120 back in season 2 in his career! He is damn exciting to have!

I'd say so too but he has only won 1 Art Ross and came close 3 times while relatively healthy so it's a tough call. I'm surprised that Ovechkin doesn't have a vote, he had 33 points in his last 20 games last season so the Oates/RW experiement may be starting to work!

Dude. You clearly want to take Ovechkin, so stop asking/arguing with us and take Ovechkin. But nobody comes close to Crosby in fantasy, and nobody on these boards will say anything differently. Missing half a season Crosby still finished with the same number of points as Ovie, and 4 back of St. Louis who won the Art Ross. Take Ovie because you want to take Ovie, but even if Crosby only plays 70 games he is still the best bet to lead the league in points.

Actually dude I voted for Crosby here too so I'm leaning towards him but Ovie is awfully intriguing on RW vs centre which is a stronger position!

Malkin's getting his 3rd Art Ross if he can stay healthy.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

it's kind of a pointless question IMO, we all know who the elite players are here, but you can't predict injuries, concussions, down years, etc, you kinda just need to roll the dice.

Crosby, Malkin and Ovie have all shown they can get 100+ pts when healthy and on their games so they're probably the best bet. It depends what your goal is, if you want to gamble on who will get the most points I'd pick one of those 3 and hope you make the right choice (or that they all have great seasons), if you want to play it a little safer I'd go with Stamkos because he's so damn consistent: 95, 91, 97, 97* you can set your watch by that

    * adjusted for full season

I think it's one of two options.

    1. Crosby. If he's healthy, he will NOT be outscored. He's by far the best player in the NHL when playing. I voted for Crosby.

    2. Stamkos. If the Crosby injury-risk scares you... Stammer is the best lock to put up 90+. This guarantees you a chance to compete. If you think your fantasy manager skills are better than everybody else in your league, you consider this route because you know you can draft in the 2nd/3rd/4th... etc. rounds the players that make up for the gap between healthy-Crosby and healthy-Stamkos.

I wouldn't consider anybody else in the discussion.
    It's Crosby vs. Stamkos, IMO.

IMO... in a H2H league, I'd take Crosby. (because I only really care about those 3 weeks of H2H playoffs)
In a full-season points league... I'd probably end up making the decision on draft day.

    Crosby vs Ovechkin vs Malkin

Crosby and Malkin both have a tendency to get injured, Ovechkin JUST found his game again after taking the better part of three seasons off mentally. There's a certain amount of risk in picking any of them. That being said, I still say Crosby is worth the risk and was my choice in the poll up top.

That being said, as pointed out by many, Stamkos is still the most consistent player the previous few seasons. He is money in the bank to come close to 100pts (I still dont know how he doesnt have a 100pt season under his belt yet).

If the risk factor bothers you a bit, take Mr. Consistency and roll with Stamkos. If you want the best player, take Crosby.

Right, because Malkin hasn't won any scoring titles really and is way past his prime anyway.
