Does anyone have a good idea what points you think Goligoski may put up next year with his old pal Gonchar there???

Ruff may very well light a fire under his butt. Gonchar can only help, as will a line of Nichus-Seguin-Benn.

I'd expect anywhere from 38-44 points. He hasn't overwhelmed anyone in the past few years with his point totals.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

I also expect him to be somewhere in that range, and if he is, I'd be extremely happy with those numbers. There aren't many dmen who put up those point totals. If he scored over 40 pts, he'd likely be among the top 20 scoring dmen in the NHL next year.

Dallas is a rebuilding team but Nill and Ruff will bring some stability. I think Gogo is also learning what it means to take a step back from contract expectations and just play hockey.. I think he's money for over 40.

I was going to say somewhere between 40 and 50. Probably closer to 40.

I dunno, he certainly hasn't paid anywhere near the dividends that Dobber led us to believe but he looks like he might develop into a viable starter on most rosters...he was on a 47 pt pace last season even though he did jack shit for the first dozen games so there is some cause for hope, 35-45 pts is where I have him pegged, I don't think he ever reaches that lofty upside that many predicted...he simply hasn't shown enough improvement despite numerous opportunities

I'm calling at least a 45 point pace for this coming year.

I think the presence of Gonchar will help him a lot.

Thanks Guys for your thoughts. I have a choice between some 60 point forwards and him. I am rebuilding my team. you all have the same thoughts as me...

    Goligoski: 38-40pts.
He & Gonchar did play the PP together in PIT.

I don't think it will be an electric duo though because both are LH.
That may not seem like much, but I know (from playing AND watching) that an ideal D-tandem on a PPs are off-handed: LH/RH.
This allows the passes to be in the wheelhouse coming across from one or the other.
When one player is "shooting outside", they are less likely to take the shot.
Defenses know this and will often overplay the other defender.
It makes for a slight "kink" in the PP

I think you're kind of right about this Mcgoo... For many reasons, he won't reach the crazy 30G 50+A range of the Mike Green of old that was projected of him, but he will produce offensive defenceman statistics...(7-12G and 35+A) year in and year out IMO. His hand injuries could not have helped his point shot either and recovering from those takes years (finniky little bones in there.. trust me I know I broke both hands...some strength never returns..). He is not your fantasy D leader, but is definitely serviceable.
