Standard Roto league, g, a, plus minus, hits, shots, pim
Has Simmonds peaked in these stats? How will e do this year? Wondering if I should keep him or Iginla in six keepers 13 team league..
    Just forward eligibility..

I'd keep Iginla over Simmonds but maybe that's just me.

I would keep Simmonds. I think 45-50 pts is a realistic expectation for him, but his PIMs and hits are a lot harder to come by in roto league.

I assume you mean that the combination of hits and PIM with a decent offensive player is hard to come by? Because on their own I would argue it's easier to find those peripherals than offense, depending on league setup, categories etc.

That being said, Simmonds' hit advantage over Iginla is small:

    72 to 65 in 12/13
    140 to 124 in 11/12

Sure, he has a significant PIM advantage but if regal feels that Iginla will score 60+ next season then in a limited keeper I would keep him, since offense trumps PIM for me.

Of course, regal, depending on the rest of your roster, type and number of starting positions etc, if a more multi cat player is important (i.e. limited slots = need for balanced players) then you could argue for Simmonds. However, one thing to be wary of is that he had 16 PPP in 45 games this past season. I'm not sure 30+PPP is reliable to expect yearly and this could affect his production going forward. I feel Iginla has a bit left and will be motivated, especially as will start the season on a new, contending team.

Looking across the categories, I view them as:

    G: Iginla
    A: wash
+/-: Iginla (as now on Boston)
    PIM: Simmonds
Hits: Simmonds but not by much
    SOG: Iginla

Give me Iginla, based on the information provided so far.

Iggy is no spring chicken and Simmonds may be a nice combination on a line w/ Lecavalier. I think his offensive upside is 55-60 points and favor him in all the other cats at this point too. Simmonds by a hair here.

Keep Simmonds. He's a good fit in that setup.

I honestly think you need to keep Iginla here, like I know the majority is saying Simmonds but I just don't see it... not this year anyways

One more vote for Simmonds. After consistently watching him elevate his game last year I became a believer and chased him hard in multiple keeper leagues. He's a player who's finally starting to put it all together and I'm expecting we haven't seen the best from him yet. He's so incredibly athletic and just battles like a madman infront of the net on the PP it's really no wonder he picked up so many PPP.....this was no mistake, he earned those points!

What can I say about Iggy, he's been one of my favorite players for a decade and he might very well have one more season of making this a close decision but the risk doesn't outweigh the reward.
