Assuming the cap hit is reasonable there was no other way to go about this. He had a nice year but still just 16 points. Scales up to 29 in 82 games. Not more than a depth dman at this point.

Muzzin was one of about 30-40 players whose goal highlights I watched on NHL.com this past year.
I'm not enormously impressed by him.
He had several lucky pucks find their way n.
    I agree w/ed... just a depth defenseman.
    I'd expect about $2.25 or $2.5m per.

I certainly prefer Mike Green to Muzzin.
LOL... I'm not sure when I'll be ready to let that one go...

Perfect deal for both player and team. Prove yourself, we'll pay ya later.

That takes it from a nice singing to a very good one IMO. $1m is good value if he plays the same as he did last season, if he continues to improve it's phenominal.

I just wish his parents had named him Adam.

For some reason I think I'd find it, errr, A. Muzzin!

I'm sorry, or at least I wish I was sorry...

Perfect deal for team. Not player. Muzzin is probably worth more. It's rarely perfect both ways.

The important thing is that metaldude dropped Mike Green to pick up Muzzin this year.

(Boy I hope he sees this post)

    In a keeper league (!!!)... bwa-ha-ha.
I wonder who is winning that "cage match".

Eeeesh! That's a stretch even for you.

I would like to echo the sentiment expressed herein by P7 and Eric. That is all.

Muzzin may actually turn out to be a real bargain in salary cap leagues. If he manages 25 points with decent +/- and peripherals (his PIM and Hits stats on a PG basis were actually pretty solid last year). Yes, he's still largely unproven but well worth taking a chance on as a cheap d-men.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Personally I think he is worth 1.5-2 million per year. The Kings could be in a tight cap situation depending on their re-signings. Muzzin didn't have that much momentum anyway. But at least this keeps him in the mix.
