Default Seth Jones in a Multi-cat league

I have the 2nd pick in the league in sig.

There are 6 defense spots in the lineup.

In the draft there will be three scenarios:

A: Mack selected at 1, leaving Drouin and Jones
B: Drouin selected at 1, leaving Mack and Jones
C: Jones selected at 1, leaving Mack and Drouin

With a league with stats like SOG, Hits, and +/- is Jones' value higher?

I have lots of good young forwards, not so much at D.

What would you do? Does Jones make sense in any scenario?

I don't think he should be going first overall. If you're really strapped and want a young D then I'd trade down to third overall and at least get something for passing over Mac and Drouin. Worst case scenario then is that someone else takes Jones with 1 or 2 and you get an amazing prospect forward and a little extra for dropping down the line. You could also consider trying to trade that 2nd overall for an actual proven NHL Dman, which might be less risky than flying with a young D (Eric Johnson, anyone?)

I think he is underrated in fantasy. He should not be #1 overall but should not slide down too far in multi-cat.

He's been the third guy from this year off the board in two separate multi cat league drafts of mine so you're in the right ballpark. Personally if I'm you I either look to move down to the 3rd pick and get something else in the deal or pick Mac/Drouin and trade another forward of yours for a D-man who is further along.

You still take MacKinnon or Drouin.

I really think you should keep the pick and take whoever is left between Mack and Drouin. These guys talents that you don't want to miss out on. I know you have a lot of top young forwards but try moving one of those guys for an upgrade on D. I wouldn't want to move either Drouin or Mack if I had them
