The only stat I remember about Bozak is this one:

Last year 40 centers had more points than Bozak.
Bozak played more minutes than 26 of them.
So he ranked 41 in scoring but 15th in TOI.

Absolutely not. The fact that we had to use him to lure Kessel just makes this worse. I would have been happy with $3.5 per, max. We will regret this, no question.

I can't stand that kind of logic, because if Kessel decides he wants to jump ship anyway then you're on the hook for Bozak for an additional 3 years..and if he isn't able to establish any chemistry with any other guys that remain..

I am not surprised by $4.2 million. I don't think he is worth it with the current cap. If the cap goes up a lot by the end of the deal it might be ok. That said, I would have liked to see a 3 year deal or let him walk. It very likely will be one of those contracts that in 2 years people will agree is a too much for a 2nd/3rd line centre.

If that is any reason as to why Bozak was signed it definitely sucks for the organization. I thought they were going to let him walk for anything over 3
