Potential Tavares/Ovechkin trade
In a 12 team H2H yahoo multicat pool.
I have 8 players to protect on my roster: Crosby, Stamkos, Tavares, Ryan, OEL, Schenider, Rinne, ward. I was approached for my Tavares for his Ovechkin. Not sure I would do it cause Tavares is on the verge of stardom and Ovie I am hesitant about him but I like he is left wing since I have 3 top centremen.
Any thoughts if anyone will do this trade. My Taveres for the other person's Ovie.

If this is a standard Yahoo H2H pool, I would probably have to go with the Ovechkin side of this one. He will have dual-wing eligibility, which also fits better for your current keeper setup, as well as filling a much less deep position. That's not to mention that it looks like OV has rediscovered his elite form, and that he's already produced seasons of ridiculous goal/point totals that JT hasn't yet sniffed.
Also, in a standard H2H league I wouldn't be keeping 3 goalies. What's the rest of your roster like? I'd probably be inclined to choose another forward instead of Ward.

I forgot to mention that we are protecting 8 due to expansion but normally we protect 14 players including goalies so this is why I need to protect Ward or else I would lose him for nothing due to expansion.

Although Tavares is irreplaceable, C's are easier to fill in compared to a dual eligible stud W in AO. Some GMs will/have taken JT over AO in drafts for this coming season, which is telling of JT's value is at an all-time high or could just be a warning that AO's value is dipping a little bit. With that said, id take the deal for AO knowing you have a solid 1-2 punch at C...but id ask the other GM to sweeten the deal for JT ie. draft pick or 2nd player swap.

Will Ovechkin continue to be on that run of his next year and the major reason he wants Tavares so he could pair him up with his Moulson. The dual wing eligibility is key cause this is the rest of my roster: JVR, Sharp, Stastny, Roy, Read, green, j. Johnson, pavelski. Any more thoughts?
