well if your goal was acquiring top end talent, you have more then met your goal.

Breaking down the deals....

Trade 1: I know there is a lovefest with Kuz but for me, he holds very little value until he puts on an NHL sweater. He has been talking about coming over to the NHL for a while now and swears he will come over after this season but talk is cheap, ask my girlfriend. Until he gets here, his value is severely depressed. It worked out for you though because if he was playing, there is no way you could have gotten him this cheap. And since if looks like you can sit on him, nicely done.

Trade 2: I love this trade for you. At first I was worried that you gave up a goalie which always seems tough to do but you got two guys that I consider to be unquestionable studs. Granlund easily takes the place of Staal for you and you have Bernier sitting on your bench. Overall, I think you did really well even if you did sell low on Flower. But I think his days could be numbered. Never really been impressed with him overall.

I love the 2nd deal. Granlund will be a stud and Grigorenko has good upside (and I say that as a diehard Sabres fan). You already have Howard and Bernier, and your league only counts one goalie. You sold MA Fleury at the perfect time, because I'm just not convinced that he'll be in Pittsburgh long term. My guess is that you must have found a team that can contend over the next year or two that desperately needed a goalie. A+ on that trade.

The first deal is about a wash. I'm high on Kuznetsov, but there is an element of risk there. But thinking of how he could fit in with Washington, I make the trade. B+ on that one.

Overall, I say you definitely met your objective. Well done.

As stated love the second trade. I actually love the first trade too. I think more than ever it is safe to say what J. Staal is. A good player, but limited capped upside. Kuznetsov could be a stud. More than worth the risk I think, and I know talk is cheap but it sounds pretty solid that he will be here as soon as his season ends. That could be fantasy playoffs for you or at very worst, 2014-2015 season.

Appreciate the feedbback. You guys are confirming my thoughts. Hurts losing Staal's FOW and production this year, but I like Kuz's upside a great deal and feel that he is comingover. But hey, I could be wrong. Even if I messed that up, I figure Granlund will be an upgraded as stated.

rataylor - believe it or not, this was a playoff team last year. I've added Iginla, Stalberg, Flower, Kuznetsov, Nyquist, Granlund and Grigo.
