    It almost makes too much sense. Not sure if it will work but Philly is going to be all over this.

    I mentioned this in the other thread but I believe the Isles own his rights don't they? And they are in need of a goalie.

    Wouldn't he owe a year to the team because he didn't report, just like Nabakov?

    No because Boston traded his rights to the NYI for a conditional 2nd rounder so I think that nullified the contract

    Provided by Rotowire.com.
    May 30: The Islanders will not "toll" Thomas' contract, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. This means Thomas' contract will expire this summer, and he will become an unrestricted free agent.

    Stoked. In the last week of the season I added him to my bench in two keeper leagues

    I think this would be another disaster goalie signing for Philly so I hope they do sign him. This would eliminate them from challenging for the Cup. To take a year off at his age and then go to a new team won't work. That being said, I think the guy they should go after is Ryan Miller. May be expensive though.

    I can't see either of those to be honest. The Flames are in major rebuild mode, they would do well to get that stable of young goalies into some big games and see if they have a starter in there somewhere. And the Oilers have to be happy with how Dubnyk has stepped up so I don't see them as a good candidate either. I think the most likely team would be a team with a goalie that is still a few years off that can serve as backup and learn from a vet like TT

    Islanders are the only team that don't have a 'starter' yet.

    I read a tweet and I laughed...

    @PeterBotte
    When the Islanders needed cap floor security/circumvention, Tim Thomas was the right fit. When they need a goalie, he is not?

    Here's a link to the story with Tim Thomas contemplating a return:

    I hope he comes back. He was always a damn fine goaltender.

    And a complete nut job at the same time.
