Looks like a one-year deal. Good motivation to have a big year to land a solid long-term deal next year.

    good move for the Blues.

a one-year contract keeps Berglund as an RFA when this deal ends.

Berglund hasn't shown himself to be anything more than a good third-line center, so I am glad the team is making him prove that he is worth more than that.

Surprised he took a 1 year deal.. I could see Berglund in a Leafs uniform next year, not sure why, I could just see it happening.. Have a funny feeling about it..

I was hoping they offer sheeted him. If they don't sign Bozak (which I pray they dont) I would have much prefered him to Weiss at 5.5 or Rib's at 5.5+. Oh well I like the signing for both the team and the player. He has the skills to be a top 6 guy, now its time to prove it.

    Consistency is his biggest issue.

    definitley.

and he's just not that good. i think it is safe to say that what you see is what you are going to get from berglund. very good third line center, but he can't carry a second line or even be a contributing part of one with any kind of consistency.

He has proven on the world stage that as I said he has top 6 talent but as Guru stated he has consistency issues, also the blues organization is not a very good place for players to thrive offensively obviously. Move him and he MIGHT start to live up to that potential, then again he might not but the skill is very obviously there.

I think it's way to early to write him off as a third line center.
