Just a question. Can someone explain why a team would buyout a player with only one year remaining on a contract. Now I understand if they are right up against the cap and the player has a no movement in the contract, but if not, would it not make sense just to bury them in the minors. You are still paying what 75% of the contract with a buyout. Sending a player to the minors, you still pay the contract but it does not count against the cap right. Then at seasons end the player is done. With a buyout, the players salary cap hit is still there (see Tucker, Darcy)
