....are under 1.25 million
I apologize because I'm sure these threads come up all the time, but the one thing I'm really going to need next year is one or two D-men that can produce at least a bit on really cheap contracts. I'm not talking about relative to production, just guys that are preferably less than 2 mil, and the cheaper the better, for a points and plus/minus only league. Any hidden gems under 1 mil would be ideal. 30 team/27 man roster means almost every NHL player is claimed.
I have McQuaid already who is pretty good because of plus/minus for his salary.

Raphel Diaz at $1.225 Mil for the next 2 years
He has PP2 duties and plays on the top 2 D pairings in Montreal.
I would put my money on him.

^ +1. I was thinking Diaz as well. He should be getting PP2 time for at least the next couple years.
Assuming he stays in Ottawa, keep an eye on what Wiercioch signs for. He did quite well last year while Karlsson was out, now with Gonchar gone he should get more offensive oppotunities and see time on one of the PP units. Matt Donovan could be good on the Isles next year if he makes the team. Torey Krug on Boston should have good plus minus and has the ability to put up points as we have seen in the playoffs.
