Default Zetterberg - how many big years left?

I recently traded David Backes and Stefan Elliott (league in sig) for Henrik Zetterberg. He will be 33 when next season begins and is coming off a top-15 in points season. How much gas is left in the tank for Hank? I'm thinking anywhere between 68-78 the next 3 seasons - does that sound about right? Not sure if he's a PPG over a full 82 player moving forward though. What do you guys think? Thanks!

I don't think he will be a PPG player going forward, but I feel it is safe to say that 70-75 points per year is to be expected from him, at least during the next 3 seasons.

He is a European player; they tend to ''last'' longer and produce well until they retire, especially the star players. I think Hank still has a good 500 games left in the tank and you can expect at least 440 points, baring any long term injuries.

Just for fun, let's say he plays another 7 seasons. I can see him producing as follows:

    75-70-70-68-63-58-50 (total: 454)

EDIT: My stats take into account that he will not play all 82 games per season over the course of the 7 year-span.

I think he's going to follow Mats Sundin. I may be biased though since he is my favourite hockey player.

I can see him performing just under ppg as predicted above, and then have one big year about 2-3 years from now where he gets back above a ppg as Detroit's young guns breakout and take the heat off Zetterberg.

I think he'll be over the 70 point pace for the next two seasons at least...and I don't think it would be a huge surprise to see him get to a point/game pace.

Personally I had Z pegged for point/game or close to it before the season started. I think I made a thread about it in the prior off-season...his production in the last 3/4 of the 2011-2012 season was just ridiculous.

I think some of it could depend on how long Datsyuk stays with the organization though, particularly for powerplay purposes. If you look at Zetterberg's career numbers, he has his best seasons when the powerplay is clicking.

    1) I would expect 70-80 points per year, barring injury.
    2) You absolutely slaughtered that trade.

I think your expectations here are perfectly reasonable and with your scoring cats this was a really great deal for you too.

I hope you are right. The only thing that I was wishy-washy on is that Zetterberg doesn't score a TON of goals... and there's a nice goal bonus in my league.

I also own Z and think he has at least 2-3 years of ppg or close to it left in the tank. I know him and Datsyuk train like crazy so I'm hoping they both last!!

Datsyuk committing to the Wings was a main factor in me pursuing this deal for Zet.

This is something I can't figure out about his game either. Zetts is always among the league leaders for SOG but his goals totals keep slipping. One of these years he's bound to have an improved S% and hopefully that is very soon.

His playmaking on the other hand is still stellar so he should keep racking up the assists at a nice rate.
