I voted for Gardiner as I Faulk is more of a all round defenseman that plays in all aspects of the game and that will hurt his ofensive potential.

    I voted for Faulk.

He's still PP1 and I really think Carolina had a weird year this year. I think they are better then their record indicated and Faulk will be a big part of their offense.

As far as Gardiner goes, it was good to see him have a good playoffs. He needed that after the year he had. I still think he's a secondary offensive option right now for Carlyle behind Phaneuf and Franson (who had a fantastic year and should only improve on that). Reilly could very well be in the picture next season as well (although I think he spends a year in the AHL) which could either help Gardiner, or hurt him. Either way, I think there are a lot of factors which can play into Gardiner and his offense in Toronto.

I just think there's a better chance for Faulk to succeed in Carolina then Gardiner in Toronto.

I voted for Faulk for the same reasons the Axeman alluded too.

    Ooooo...this is a good one.

Damn, my heart wants to go with Gardiner but my head says it's Faulk. Toronto has too many options at PP1

I'd go with Faulk here. What he has done the past 2 years at 20 and 21 is huge. The points will come.

Faulk has 37 points in his first 104 NHL games..

Gardiner has 34 points in his first 87 NHL games..

I don't believe that Phaneuf will play more PP then Gardiner, thats just foolish if you believe that.. Gardiner and Franson are the top PP pairing atleast until Reilly figures it all out in the minors..

Faulk is a great dman and you could definitely argue that Faulk is more valuable in a multi-cat league.. But when you ask who will score more points, then you have to go with Gardiner here..

Your not taking into account that Faulk was 19 when he entered the league and Gardiner was 21. Makes a huge difference in there early production.

I'm not sure why you think its foolish. Go take a look at the numbers for yourself. They arent foolish at all.
