Been thinking about this a bit more, and with Yzerman at the helm, perhaps MSL is a lock to make it.

Its not going to be "ice the most talent" because they have so much, so they're going to be looking for those extra intangibles; like chemistry.
Subban is not a lock and given his character I doubt he makes it.

Subban is close to a lock and he grew up down the street from me the crap about his character is BS.

    Pfft.
I heard that one time one of the stick boys in Montreal brought his puppy in to a practice and Subban drowned it in an ice bath because it was stealing his limelight.

He's a locker room cancer and if he makes team canada he will ruin it. His presence will destroy the fragile mental status of players like Crosby and Toews and distract them from the task at hand.

I could totally see Subban not making it for personality/character reasons.

team canada doesn't pick immature players who holdout on their team and yell at teammates on the ice

I don't see Subban making it. I think Boyle stays on for one more run.

Subban will make it next time.

A lot of people had Eberle as a lock about a year ago, but don't see that anymore either. Eberle/Duchene/Hall/Seguin will get passed over this time around.

    A la Doughty last year?

But hard to disagree with you on the potential for bad chemistry in the room? I don't know much about that so can't add much, but he is a young kid and seemed to mature this year. Also probably be a Norris winner by next year.

I think Eberle will make it based on his Team Canada track record. Dude is absolutely clutch in these tourneys.

I like this team. Only change I think is coming, is Boyle is on the roster over either Pietrangelo or Subban. The team needs some veteran leadership, someone like a Niedermeyer, and I think Boyle fits this bill the best.

Leadership/character is why I see Ladd on this team over the likes of Eberle/Hall/Seguin/Duchene.

    Cheers.

He will have to come out on fire in the regular season. I would guess a number of players will be training extra this off-season to give themselves the best chance to make the roster.

If Eberle starts out the year like he played this season, I don't see him making it, despite his past success at the WJC.

Boyle had a terrible year. It wasn't just his numbers that have been down - it is obvious that the lockout affected him or his age has just caught up with him and he has lost a step. He has been SJ's worst d-man in the playoffs. Canada doesn't need him to run their PP and he is a liability at even strength.

I also don't see a place for Eberle, Duchene or Seguin.

I do like all the talks about potential lines... but pondering whether Boyle makes the cut has got me wondering who will dawn the C for team Canada?

Does sid get it this year?

I would think Crosby wears the "C" for sure this time around. In 2010 it was Niedermeyer (C), with Crosby, Iginla, and Pronger as assistants. Crosby is the only one of this bunch left, unless Iggy makes it.

If you guys care, and debate it all you want or rip on my list but I did invite 32 forwards, 18 defence and 8 goalies to my "camp" and that is how I created the roster. I also know that those numbers are too high for a "camp" but it is the numbers I went with. Obviously not all these guys are going to be agreed on, in fact a few had very poor seasons but I sat down and decided on the amount I was going to invite and went from there, now with that said here they are:

    Forwards:
    Ryan Getzlaf
    Corey Perry
    Jonathan Toews
    Patrick Sharp
    Matt Duchene
    Jamie Benn
    Jordan Eberle
    Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
    Taylor Hall
    Jeff Carter
    Mike Richards
    Logan Couture
    Patrick Marleau
    Joe Thornton
    Patrice Bergeron
    Tyler Seguin
    Jeff Skinner
    Eric Staal
    Jordan Staal
    John Tavares
    Matt Moulson
    Brad Richards
    Rick Nash
    Jason Spezza
    Claude Giroux
    Sidney Crosby
    James Neal
    Jarome Iginla
    Steven Stamkos
    Martin St. Louis
    Evander Kane
    Andrew Ladd

    Defence:
    Francois Beauchemin
    Duncan Keith
    Brent Seabrook
    Drew Doughty
    Shea Weber
    Dan Boyle
    Brent Burns
    Alex Pietrangelo
    Brian Campbell
    P.K. Subban
    Marc Staal
    Kris Letang
    Dion Phaneuf
    Mike Green
    Dan Hamhuis
    Dan Giardi

    Goalies:
    Corey Crawford
    Mike Smith
    Roberto Luongo
    Cam Ward
    Carey Price
    Marc-Andre Fleury
    Martin Brodeur
    James Reimer

Now you can all criticize the list all you want but thats the list I made, the numbers are high but for this scenario it made the most sense to have a few extra names in my opinion.
Straight Points keeper league. Keep 5 Forwards,3 defence,1 goalie.

F: Nicklas Backstrom, Joe Thornton, Henrik Zetterberg, Zach Parise, Logan Couture

D: Erik Karlsson, Alex Pietrangelo, Oliver Ekman-Larsson

    G: Sergei Bobrovsky
