seguin isn't making team canada, too many players ahead of him in the depth chart for the type of game he plays

    Nobody knows.

If he starts the year on fire, he will get a long look.

nope, even if he is up there in points, he wont make the team. wayyyyyyy too many guys that they can pick from that bring offense, so unless he somehow turns into a faceoff ace or an amazing penalty killer, he isnt bumping other proven guys off for a roster spot.

I don't see Seguin making the roster either. I think to make the team as a forward you have to bring some combination of:
    1) elite offensive talent (which almost everyone has)
    2) experience/track record of success on the big stages (olympics, stanley cup, etc)
    3) physicality/grit
    4) special teams (ala Bergeron)
    5) proven chemistry with some of the other roster mainstays

Right now, Seguin doesn't really bring any of those 4 categories... and by the time they have to make the selections it will be too little too late even if he is having a strong year.

I wouldn't rule Benn out quite yet - he's a more versatile player than Seguin, although I think his chances are slim. He got shafted playing with that injury last season.

I don't think Duchene will make the team either, but if I had to guess, he'd make it before Seguin

I think 1 of Ladd/Benn will make it for sure. They both bring a great physical presence along with natural goal scoring ability. I am banking on Benn's numbers to explode next season which will help his case to be named to Team Canada

Zorro's 2014 Team Canada Olympic roster:

John Tavares - Sidney Crosby -Steven Stamkos
Eric Staal - Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry
Rick Nash - Jonathan Toews - Mike Richards
Martin St.Louis - Patrice Bergeron - Claude Giroux
    Andrew Ladd

    Duncan Keith - Brent Seabrook
    Drew Doughty - Shea Weber
    Kris Letang - Alex Pietrangelo
    PK Subban

    Carey Price
    Roberto Luongo
    Martin Brodeur

I know I will take alot of heat for this but I was actually thinking/debating about adding Brad Marchand to this team, HAHA.. He definitely is a easy player to hate, great to play with, and very hard to play against.. But in a short tournament like this, most countries, especially Canada, usually don't take these kinds of risks.. HAHA..

So only 1/7 defenders that shoots left?

    I can't see that happening

Feel free to add your team to this thread Mr. Guru.. I am interested to see your predictions for Team Canada's roster..

If Hamhuis/Campbell are on this team over Letang/Alex P because they are left handed shots, that would be a major mistake.. You really can't take Keith, Seabrook, Doughty, and Weber off the team.. And Alex P, is really coming into his own.. I could play D on this team though, HAHA.. Its that darn good..

Please add your team though MG..
