    Default Ryan or Backes

League in sig, I feel like Backes would really improve my team. LW is a position of strength, and I could stand to bolster C/RW. I just want to make sure I don't end up dealing a 75 point, 150 hit player in Ryan. Should I wait to see if he gets traded this summer/Selanne retires or should I finally give up on him?

i'd personally hold onto ryan until the summer. the deal for backes will still be on the table in the summer. if selanne retires/sees a diminishing role, ryan's value will go up.

Even if Selanne retires I think Backes is worth a lot more than Ryan in this format.

You know, it's really not so open and shut for me simply because you don't count FoW's. Backes belongs to a scoring starved Hitchcock system where Ryan really has the talent to be a consistent 70-75 point player especially with the talent around him. I agree that you should probably hang tight and see what kind of situation unfolds in Anaheim and if Ryan even remains on the same team. You've got some decent talent you should try to unload, I would probably try to sell high on Ladd and just hold on to Bryz until he gets bought out and resigned and potentially trade him too. Goligoski is also another name I would shop but Dallas is so lost right now so he holds little value. Hartnell would also be a player I try to trade off it's just unfortunate a lot of people probably lost faith in him after this shortened season. Good luck and hopefully Ryan pans out for you!
