Galchenyuk...both of them will be sick together though.
Me and my friend argue over this alot, who do you think is going to have the better career in the NHL. We are talking who has the better chance of having a HOF NHL career. I liked Galchenyuk when he got drafted and will stick with my gut on him being the better long term career player, or even keeper.
Galchenyuk...both of them will be sick together though.
No reason to argue for Gallagher here. He's good and hardworking but doesn't have the high-end skill needed to be elite. Galchenyuk has everything.

I like Gallagher just fine, but this isn't close, in my opinion. Galchenyuk, easily. Along with the reasons mention, he's also a couple years younger, and a lot bigger.
Galchenyuk for me but Gallagher is also very good.... I give the offensive edge to Galchenyuk on this one.

Gotta be Galchenyuk, he brings the high end skill while Gallagher will be the high quality complimentary player, like a Burrows or Marchand.

Great feedback guys, even though I am a huge Galychenyuk supporter. I still think Gallagher does deserve the Calder and feel both of these guys can make each other better, No real loser here.

They're actually very complimentary players with different skillsets and it would be cool to see them continue to develop together on the team. I think Galchenyuk will continue to develop into an exceptional setup man, he's got such good nice hands with the puck, lots of patience and creativity, give him a couple years and he'll be the best player on the team. Gallagher reminds me of a young Brendan Morrow but with better speed and hands. He is exactly the kinda player the Habs have needed on their roster and should have a huge impact on both sides of the puck as he matures.
Galchenyuk has the higher pure offensive upside but I would argue Gallagher will be just as important to the team. I love both these guys
Galchenyukhas a much higher upside imo. he may not have had as good a rookie season but overall hes going to be better.

It really isn't even close. It's Galchenyuk hands down.
I seen a really cool stat the other day.
Between OHL, NHL, WJC & WHC; Gachenyuk has played 92 games this year (and has done a formidable job considering he was 18,19 years old during that span). All of this comes after a year where he only played 3 games because of a significant ACL injury.
He more or less missed an entire developmental year (worked hard in the gym to stay fit) and was still able to excel. Many folks feel that if he didn't miss the full season he easily would have been drafted ahead of Yakupov.
Very impressive.

I picked Galchenyuk, because long-term Galchenyuk has the tools to become elite(like Sundin), while Gallagher will be a role player(like Marchand)..
Zorro says "vote for Dobber"
Angus is my best friend at dobberhockey..
Galchenyuk will be the star of the two, Gallaghers going to be a hell of a player and just as important but the kids are going to be wearing Galchenyuk jerseys.
A bit early to call this - we just have a small sample size of two players who haven't yet developed into their potential.
Galch has the draft pedigree and the size, but so far Gallagher has been far more exciting for me to watch- such a character player. Not sure if Gallagher's career numbers will pan out more like Alex Burrows or more like Martin St. Louis.
