I just got offered Gonchar for Krug. Yay or Nay??

I'm hoping to contend next year and hoping to snag Gonchar off an owner who is nervous about the bail job.

Still, this may be a terrible deal if Krug continues to emerge. He really does look like he belongs, and then some.

Could be a really really bad deal should Gonchar sign in the KHL as has been rumored.

I would wait for a better offer.

I think, now that he's re-signed, I'd roll with Gonchar. Krug had a nice playoffs, but he's still one of the shortest guys in the league and won't have a long leash. There will be some growing pains. If you're in it to win, Gonchar's your guy.

I really like Krug (hence this post)... but if you can get Gonchar for him:

Krug is a good prospect but it needs to be kept in perspective. He is a support player who hasn't even established himself yet. In fantasy land he is interchangeable with so many other guys.

Totally agree with this post from Angus.. This is a classic "sell-high" opportunity for you.. Gonchar will be the go to guy on the Stars backend on the PP next season, and should rack up some nice point totals..

Sorry for the lateness of the reply

I ended up pulling the trigger a mere hours before Gonchar signed and am loving it more and more. Totally agree with the above and am stoked i didn't fall into my familiar trap of falling in love with potential.

    Thanks for the advice

Did Krug ever make a few blunders last night against the Hawks...good move getting Gonchar.

Now that Gonchar has committed to 2 more NHL seasons, I would take him over Krug. I need to see a little more of the kid before buying that he's for real. The playoffs could be a coming out party for him or he could be the next Andy Delmore (an offensive D-Man with one great playoffs followed by an insignificant career).
