    Default Thoughts Weber for Giroux

    Hello all,

Let the post season trading begin.. well for me atleast.

I wanted to get your thoughts for a potential trade:

    Giroux vs Weber

Who do you think would be more valuable for the team below? Weber seems like the initial vote based on position but Giroux seems to be a pretty power piece and I feel like stud forwards are pretty damn hard to find where as Blks/Hits/PIMs etc are easier to fill with random defenseman. What are your thoughts?

    The stats:

G, A, Pts, +/-, PIM, HIT, BKS, PPP, SHP, SOG

    Very deep Dynasty team:

That seems to be the answer right there.

Center for Defense trades should always be regarded as 2-for-2.

    Giroux + DefensemanJoe
    vs.
    CenterBob + Weber

If you trade away Giroux, who takes his spot from your roster (You call this guy "CenterBob").

If you trade for Weber, whose spot does he take from your roster (You call this guy "DefensemanJoe").

    That's the real trade.
Do you get more production from Giroux + (Your 4th D, say?)
    or
Do you get more production from (Your 3rd C, say?) + Weber
    ???

Overall... I believe that elite forwards are rarer than elite defenseman.
That said - in some 6F/4D leagues... Weber could be more valuable.

Thank you as always Pengwin for the very detailed response. I was thinking about it in that way which is why I was leaning towards Giroux but with big names like this I always like a second opinion.
