Default Marty St. Louis - how much left in the tank?

Got an offer of MSL and Scheiflele for Ryan...same stats as leagues below, but a 10 team. If MSL can put up 70-80 for the next couple of years I think its worth it. He's 37, but still looks great - is he going to hit a wall soon?

I think it's the right idea to look to sell high I think that if I give MSL + a top prospect I want something better than Bobby Ryan.

We're talking about the reigning Art Ross Trophy winner... let that sink in for a second

MSL will continue to be elite for at least another 2-3 years. He's one of the best conditioned athletes in the league.

MSL is still in great physical shape. Don't let his age get you trigger happy to move him. I'd hold him or if you do trade him you need to get back more than Bobby Ryan.

Every time someone doubted MSL, just look what happened. Undrafted, undervalued, and all he does is continue to have elite seasons and a HOF career.

At 37 he is the oldest player to EVER win a scoring title in the NHL, in an era when it's a "young man's game" more than ever before.

He is an exception to the rule; I would expect at least 70-80 points (with the upside for more) for the next 3 seasons or so. This guy doesn't age and is still in tremendous shape. Oh yeah ... there's also this Stamkos guy around. He's pretty good, too.

    Take the money and run.

The guy is an Iron Man and, in my opinion, has earned the right to be classified as a solid keeper until he shows otherwise. Not to mention you're getting a good young player in return as well. I'd take the deal.

That's just the way I feel about the guy.

Lost in the discussion is the fact that Mark Scheifele projects as a very, VERY good NHLer -- as soon as next season. A lot of people think he could step in as the WPG #1 Center next year, and by all accounts is basically NHL-ready.

This deal is a total slam dunk as far as I'm concerned.

I will NEVER underestimate MSL again. I'm so sick of being wrong on this guy. He's become like Selanne to me, every time I thought 'The Wall' was coming he hulk smashed through it.

Gotta second the comment about Sheifele. From all the news on him, he looks like a total stud, and it might not be long until he alone is better than Bobby Ryan.

It might also be worth a look at a recent article on this site called "Time to Downgrade" where Bobby Ryan was analyzed by the writer and basically damned never to score 75 pts, despite high hopes.

    Cheers!

I picked up MSL for Hudler and a 1st (6th overall in this years prospect pool) from a guy who was rebuilding. Was counting on production for this last season only, looking like it's going to continue and I couldn't be happier with the move.

I think the addition of Schieffle in the deal puts it strongly in your favour. I'm with the rest; take the MSL side.
