I would give it to Ovechkin . No way they come back to make playoffs if he's not there.
St-Louis was amazing but with his team the 3rd worst in NHL.. tought to give it to him.
If Crosby was not injured I think he gets it easily with over 10 pts lead in scoring

This award has nothing to do with importance to the team though. That's Hart Trophy. This is for the "most outstanding player" so whether or not Crosby missed some games, Caps couldn't make the playoffs without Ov or Tampa missing the playoffs, it's irrelevant. Those are arguments for Hart Trophy.
There's no question who was the most outstanding player in the league this year. This is Crosby's award this year.

Crosby missed some games, but he was simply electric in those that he played (56 points, 17 PPP and a +26 in 36 games ... pretty bonkers).
