wants my Malkin

I have another GM offering me Tavares+Carter for Malkin+Letang+Eberle which is ridiculous to start with but im trying to come back with something a little more realistic. He has P Kane and Semin that might be interesting for Malkin+Letang but im still not sure that thats enough, everyone is banking on Malkin having a few injuries this year so his value is down. Any ideas?

And the offer you're thinking would be bad for you. Don't do it. Malkin alone is worth Kane and Semin and probably even more. No reason to add Letang there.

Yea. I would be looking at Tavares and Kane for Malkin and Letang, and I'd still probably rather have the Malkin side.

I agree with Carcillo, neither of those offers would be close to fair value for Malkin.

Tavares/Kane for Malkin would be a good starting point, but I would probably want a little sweeter pot. I would be very cautious about throwing in Letang too since he did put up over a point-per-game when healthy.

How many IR spots do you have through the season? How many WW/FA moves per season?

I don't mind "Band-Aid Boys" who produce the way Malkin or Letang do as long as I have IR spots and WW moves to accommodate them. You can fill the void with free agents who are hitting hot streaks.

In a limited keeper, Malkin is even more valuable. You should be asking a lot more. The Tavares/Kane suggestion is a good one that could be tinkered with -- perhaps adding a fringe keeper with Malkin to make it happen.

No way you add a piece from your side. Talking about Letang is ridiculous.
If he wants Malkin, he has to pay for him. Two studs. That's the price.
If he wants you to add, turn down the offer and stop talking.
Or, if he really wants Letang to be part of the trade and you're willing to trade him because of his past (or future) injuries, make him add a piece.
Take the Letang vs ? as a separate deal.
What would you ask for Letang alone?
Semin or Carter would not make it for me. Not even close.
Then, the trade could look like:
Tavares + Kane + (player for Letang) vs Malkin + Letang
To be honest, in a keep 9, points only, there isn't a lot of players I would take for Letang in a 1 vs 1 swap.
Hey, he wants a top 4 forward and a top 2 dman!

we have no ww/fa our IR spots we roll with what we have. my keepers as of now are Malkin, Nash, Wheeler, Benn, (Eberle became Yakupov), Letang, Huberdeau then Hodgson or E Kane.

Kane is a big upgrade on Hodgson or Wheeler. I think I'd do the deal if you can get Tavares/Kane without adding anything on your side.

Edit. I would keep Rinne too. IMO your keepers before the trade are Malkin, Nash, Wheeler, Benn, Yakupov, Letang, Huberdeau, E Kane, Rinne. After the trade they would be Tavares, Nash, P Kane, Benn, Yakupov, Letang, Huberdeau, E Kane, Rinne.

I would be incline to trade any 2 players from your team (except Malkin) if you can land Tavares.
Wheeler + Benn would be fantastic trade for you!
