With the cap going down I'd consider it, but looking at your roster it doesn't look like you have any really big ticket guys except for Ovechkin. I'll admit I'm not as up-to-date on player salaries as I am on cap hits, however.
What could you get with the 2nd rounder? It's a prospect draft, yes?

Saving about 6M by trading Sedin would allow me to solidify my D by choosing another D-Man than Barrie....also, with the Neuvirth re-sign in WAS, i'm not to sure about Holtby starting spot so I might move on the G side.....
As for now, with my actual roster, I sit at 65,6M (1.3 above the limit of 64,3M) with everyone already re-signed. So I have a move to make to clear salary.

why trade away a current elite player for potential when your team looks ready to compete now not in two years, even in two years LWER dsedin may still be producing at the same rate as the young RWER.

I don't know much about salary cap leagues but I'm guessing pts/contract $ is a good measure of a players worth... seems like the Sedins are great players at 6 mil, and ryan/eriksson/benn are a tier or two below them for a mere 1 mil in savings and are much more expendable if you need to shed salary. Those rookies are pretty low value overall... silferberg will prob not top 50 before his rookie contract runs out, and I'd say its 50/50 that tarasenko can hit 60 pts before his runs out. It looks like Sedin is great value, and this seems like selling a top tier player for a pittance.
I would definitely take Tarasenko over Silfverberg.
Saving 6 mil would make it worth it for me.

Should I try to trade Pavelski or Ryan in order to save on the cap instead?
