Well 3-0. No way the Captials score 4 on Lundqvist. Great series by the Rangers to shut these guys down. Should be interesting to see what happens in Washington next year!

It's amazing to me that the Rangers will win this series. They scored one goal or less in four of the games.

Smothering team defense and unreal goaltending.

Should be a great matchup against the Bruins!

Both d cores a little banged up with absolutely no rest in between series. McDonagh got destroyed by Ovechkin tonight.

If everyone keeps buying into the team defense concept like this, they'll be alright. Something like 26 blocked shots for the Rangers so far tonight ... And leading the way in that department at this point? Rick Nash.

I don't think they played too badly in all honestly (though the wheels did start to fall off a bit at the start of the third).

Just outclassed by the Rangers tonight, and ran into the best goalie in the world imposing his will the last two games. Lundqvist is just filthy good.

Yep. Talk about rising the occasion and saying " ok boys I got your back"

2 shutouts back to back games on back to back nights. Games 6 and 7. Filthy.

Yeah Ovechkin was quite physical at the start and the whole team was playing well. But sometimes the other team gets the timely goals no matter what you do.

Really too bad as I was pulling for the Caps. Oh well.

Ovechkin sounds like a sore loser:

“The refereeing... You understand it yourself. How can there be no penalties at all (on one team) during the playoffs?

“I am not saying there was a phone call from (the league), but someone just wanted Game 7. For the ratings. You know, the lockout, escrow, the League needs to make profit... I don't know whether the refs were predisposed against us or the League. But to not give obvious penalties (against the Capitals), while for us any little thing was immediately penalized...”

Pretty hilarious how this just won't end despite the second round being well underway...

    http://espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2013...ohn-tortorella

    Now it's getting personal.

Washington Capitals coach Adam Oates is not happy about New York Rangers coach John Tortorella characterizing the Caps' complaints about officiating as whining.

"Well, I think he's out of line," Oates said on Washington's 106.7 The Fan. "[Tortorella] should be worried about his own series. We didn't whine once during the series. I never complained. I don't know, did you guys ever hear me complain about officiating?"

Oates seemed so frustrated that he was asked whether he could beat up Tortorella.

    "Yes," Oates said, "easily."

Caps star Alex Ovechkin had already criticized the officiating in the series, which the Rangers won in seven games. The Rangers received 28 power-play chances in the series; the Capitals finished with 16.

    Tortorella responded Wednesday.

"We've got everybody and their brother whining out there in Washington about what happened in that series," Tortorella said. "And I think that's a big reason they lose that series."
