with so much weight given to goals, you gotta rank the dmen who are the shooters/goal scorers quite high in your list, and downgrade the passers/assist heavy dmen.

    This is my list:

    Karlsson
    Subban
    Byfuglien
    Letang
    Yandle
    Weber
    Phaneuf
Green (though I don't trust his health, he does score a lot of goals)
    Campbell
    Edler
    12 team, H2H, salary cap
    1 pt/G or A, 2 pts/W, 1 pt/OTL, 1 pt/SO

    Forward: B. Point, M. Necas, A. Debrincat, T. Zegras, J. Bratt, L. Raymond
    Defense: J. Morrissey, A. DeAngelo, S. Gostisbehere, D. Doughty
    Goalie: T. Demko, E. Merzlikins
    Bench: M. Rossi, C. Glass, M. Maccelli, M. Dumba, K. Shattenkirk, F. Andersen
Prospects of Note: L. Stankoven, J. Lekkerimaki, D. Yurov, B. Clarke

Wow with 10 goals equivalent to 30 assists. I would be looking heavily to D man that shoot a lot and run the #1 PP wave.

    1. Karlsson
    2. Letang
    3. Subban
    4. Byfuglien
    5. Weber
    6. Green
    7. Phaneuf
    8. Yandle
    9. Suter
    10. Pietrangelo

Tough not to include guys like Shattenkirk, Chara, Markov, Campbell, Streit, Doughty etc.
Like I said, I gave the edge to guys who love to shoot the puck and are good at it.

I can't put Campbell in the top ten for such a goal-heavy league.

I would think that Garisson would need to make the top 10 in such a goal heavy league, NO?

yeah, that is fair I think. I had a hard time picking the final two in my top 10 list and went with Campbell because he has found new life in Florida, and even on a crappy team he is among the league leaders in points among dmen the last two years, so I went with him over the other younger dmen who don't seem to be as consistent yet (Shattenkirk, OEL, Pietrangelo, Schultz). Still, with goals being so important, I should have thought of a better option than Campbell. I should have put Chara in there instead.

Interesting, though of course over a small sample size, Chara is tied for 24th in this league this year, and 32nd when prorated.

A couple of players I haven't seen getting a lot of respect in the top 10:

    Markov 4th
    Enstrom 5th (prorated)
    Martin 8th (prorated)

While I think making any case for Martin is spurious at best, I think Enstrom is in a situation where he merits some discussion, and I think Markov definitely has the talent to be in the top ten.

Of course, Markov has age and durability issues, Chara will not be held to 36th in the league in points very often, and Campbell won't tie Weber and Buff in goals ever again, etc. But this question becomes very interesting if we're talking about the top 15...

Enstrom would be in consideration for my top 10 list in leagues with goals and assists weighted equally, but he is another of those pass first/assist type of dmen who doesn't score many goals.

And Martin is just an aberration this season.

And I can't take Markov seriously anymore, despite his incredible season, due to his age and propensity for injury.
