Default how much is too much for tavares?

14 team limited keeper (6) points only.

Been offered tavares for my patty kane and benn. I know i am giving up a lot, but is it worth it?

As i understand, you want to get as much high end talent in a limited keeper, but is this too much?

    Rep for any advise.

Just depends on rest of your roster, what your other keepers are.

i have malkin, parise, skinner, e kane, p kane, benn. The rest of the team is pretty weak and there really isn't anyone worth keeping.

If it's keep 6, who would you replace your last keeper with? It would effectively be Tavares + that player for Kane and Benn. My answer would depend on that, since Tavares is not that far ahead of Kane right now IMO.

    Forwards:
    L. Couture, F. Forsberg, T. Teravainen, O. Palat, C. Kreider, K. Hayes, *J. Guentzel, R. Rakell, *K. Labanc, B. Point, *C. Fischer
    Defense:
    *S. Theodore, S. Gostisbehere, *M. Matheson, J. Trouba

Typically it helps to post your league scoring categories and your entire team to help people gain a full understanding of your league and better analyse the value of players.

As a rule of thumb, the team who gets the best player wins the deal; however, this doesn't always hold true. The biggest question is who would jump in as your last keeper?

    Tavares/??? for P.Kane/Benn

My initial reaction is make the deal and worry about the ??? after, but I would like to know the scoring cats and your entire team.

    Fair enough,... my bad...

ITs a points only, no positions, keep 6. Extra points for special teams. weekly starts. start 10 f , 4 d and 1 goalie.

my core or 6 keepers now are malkin, benn, kane, kane, skinner, parise.

The rest of my team is pretty irrelevant as i traded all my assets for picks once i realized i wasnt going to win.

The most notable potential keeper on my roster would be Soderberg, Gallagher, OEL, Faulk, Crawford, Nabakov.

In a limited keeper, this is pretty much exactly the kind of trade you wanna make in order to consolidate your top-tier talent, but I'm just not sure about your group of other potential keepers.

I think out of those guys OEL probably has the highest relative value in a points-only format. I'm not thrilled about slottin any of those players into your 6th keeper slot, but it sounds like you have some good draft picks for next year?

IF you were to pull off this move, and slot someone like OEL in as your last keeper - which I kind of like as an option - what kind of player(s) do you anticipate being able to acquire in the draft? That information could also influence how I feel about it: if you can acquire some keeper-quality forwards in next year's initial draft, then I LOVE this trade.

    Cheers

Finding a keeper worthy forward wouldn't be that tough. Since its a limited keeper there is quite a bit of young talent available. But i may be able to get bergeron or a lunquist back in that deal and have that player slot in to my 6th spot.

Yes do the deal but see if you can squeeze one of his drops out of him that would fit into your top 6 ahead of OEL. (I like OEL) Tavares is the man!

    Do that trade!
OEL is a nice 6th keeper.
You can ask for the one that would become his 7th keeper as well.
Tavares is top 5-6 material for me.

See what you can squeeze out of him, and explain your reluctance.

    Report back here. Good luck.
