I'm in the opposite situation. I'm playing against the Backstrom owner in the final. He has been devasted by injuries for the Championship Final. Kovalchuk, Malkin, and now Backstrom. If Backstrom doesn't return next week (and neither do the other two), he will be forced to play Parenteau and Elias against me (along with Tavares).
My opponent is a good friend of mine, so I feel sort of bad for him, but at the same time I really want to win this league! Been in it for 20 years and have never won before.

Good luck thenI'm shooting for my first win in my dynasty league. Started out in 07 with a crappy expansion team. Built it into a powerhouse but over the last four years it has faltered right at the end. My probable opponent in the final will not be a pushover, though, and that matchup can go either way. If I had more solid goalies, it would be another story...

According to the Washington Post, Backstrom participated in a full practice and in all drills today and said he's "fine". Apparently the shot numbed his arm and so for precautionary reasons they pulled him from the game, but at this point there's zero indication he'll miss time as everyone, himself and the coach expect him in the lineup for their next game.
