Default Who would you trade and where to upgrade? Only keep 11

    Hello,

Season is almost over and currently sitting 5th place. I can keep 11 for next year and this is who i think i will keep for sure:

    Staal
    Duchene
    Ovie
    Moulson
    Wheeler
    Voracek
    Enstrom
    Shattie
    M. Smith

I have two more spots left and these are the players in the bubble:

    JVR
    Eriksson
    Bryz
    Bishop
    Brodin

I cannot protect Bishop at end of year as a prospect having played 40 games already so i would need to either keep him or throw him out to FA pool. Same with Kassian (league and team info in sig).

Someone sitting in last is looking to upgrade his keepers for his 1st rounder (1st overall pick in the 12th round). So i have some options to sell some players i cannot keep. Who would it be? and Who are my 11 keepers?

    Thanks much for feedback!

    JVR
    Eriksson
    Bryz
    Bishop
    Brodin

Start 2 G: Id still consider keeping Bryz. His value is so depleted that he is probably of no interest to the last place team. But you never know...

Try and sell JVR or Eriksson for that 1st rd'er from the last place team. Keep the other one remaining

    G'luck!

I think it's pretty even between Eriksson, Bryzgalov and JVR. I'd probably take the two forwards because I have very little faith in Bryz going forward. That said you probably wouldn't be wrong to keep him and one of the forwards.

I'd go to the GM with the 1st pick and see what he wants. Secure the pick first and then keep whichever 2 he doesn't want.

How about Ribeiro? Consider him in the mix?

I considered Ribeiro but C is just too deep of a position that i might be able to pick up someone better next year at draft.. Still haven't completely ruled him out but he is def. on the far end of the bubble.

As for keeping Bryz, i just don't see him getting many wins, let alone shutouts in Philly.. i had him since he was good in Phoenix and he has burned me 2 years in a row now. Do you think he could bounce back next year IF Philly can shore up their D in the offseason? Or would you say that the Philly system just isnt his cup of tea?

What about Bishop? Do you think he will be a starter next year?

I also could keep one goalie now and pick up a goalie with the 1st rounder (like Bobrovsky - he is currently in a team with 2 keeper goalies).

So do you agree that Eriksson and JVR are less keeper material than the 9 guys i have listed above? Eriksson has been money for me before this year or am i over-reacting to this short season and we might see him back to being that 70 point guy next year?

I would keep Eriksson for sure. I'm not too concerned about his stats this year. He came into a completely different setting with Jagr and Whitney and he lost a lot of "looks". Benn was late getting there, short season, etc.

He has been a model of consistency for the past 3 years. 70 pts might be his ceiling but I think he can stay close to it for a few more years yet. 2 points in the last 2 games.

    He's your man.
JVR is one of the streakiest/injury prone players going. I flipped him for B Ryan this year at his peak and I've been very happy.
