Might be premature, but I think it's safe to say they're done. Very disappointing, I was really excited about this team heading into the year.

Lots of reasons for their disappointing season (primarily their defense), but above all - I still can't get over how shitty Bryzgalov was this year. I can't recall a single instance of him stealing a game for them, which would have helped the team build some confidence. His defeatist attitude pisses me off most of all... dude just gives up on plays and then shrugs it off like as if he was a helpless victim.

Bryzgalov bought out, Luongo or Miller acquired. Book it!

They not only need a goalie, they need defense. No Pronger has taken the wind out of their sails. They need to learn how to live without him.

Hehe... half way through the first line I started getting a deja vu feeling. I will literally laugh for two straight days if this happens.

The best move that Bryz has in his repertoire is the patented "duck" when shots come up above shoulder height. If I was Lavy, I'd have pulled him and sat him for three games after seeing that... and he does it all the time?!

I won't be pleased, the Pennsylvania rivalry is one of the best in the league

I don't care who you put in net, their D line up is a joke right now. Aside from Timonen and L Schenn, it's deplorable. I'll see your Bruno Gervais and raise you Olivier Lauridsen, take that!

Agree! They have the forwards to get it done, they just need the D in place too.. Put it on their off-season wish list..

Bryzgalov on staying a Flyer: 'To be honest, I don't care'

That quote is only part of it:

Bryzgalov was asked if he’d like to be a Flyer next season.

“You know, I have no control in this,” he said. “I can’t read the people’s mind. I can’t project things what they’re thinking, that’s why I’m not worried about things I can’t control. I maybe want one thing and they want a different thing.”
I actually appreciate his honesty and laid-back attitude on this one. It's not up to him, so why worry about it. Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do for awhile, but it really doesn't get you anywhere

“You’ve gotta understand we’re just employees here and we have front office and coaches who make the decisions with the lineups and what kind of team they created,” Bryzgalov said. “You’ve got to accept it or what are you going to say?”

As a high-paid veteran with a long contract, Bryzgalov could speak his mind more but won’t - not now anyway.

“It’s not about saying it because you have a contract,” he said. “It’s about the respect for management and coaches decisions and not about what you want. They hired them to do the job.”
Honestly, I don't think Bryz is as much of a flake as people make him out to be. He's just super laid back.

Did someone inform Mason of these plans?

...and Miller? For the Sabres to Dish Miller to Philly, the latter would have to give up a lot of youth. Like Couturier for starters.

Bryz isn't a flake at all - in this world, he is way ahead of most folks calling him a flake. He has it exactly right - "I can only try and control what I can control. That which I can't would be a waste of my time to put energy into."

I wouldn't chalk this up as being laid back either. It only appears that way to folks that don't have this control thing down in their heads - because they measure laid back by their own perception of going for control of things they can't.

Bryz isn't having a good year, but to hang all the Flyers woes on him would really stink like a fish market. For those that are chirping the shit out of him, go ahead, put on the gear and get out there. I bet you will be wishing for better D in front of you in about 2.5 seconds.

Well if the Flyers could pick most anyone they want - I reckon they should go after Emery - the Razor is a broadstreet bully through and through.

Didn't they already go that route once and Emery didn't exactly do that well for them? Sounds like something Flyers would do though. Boucher, Leighton etc. They love taking back goalies who've already failed for them.
