My guess is that Neal will be D2D until the end of the 3 game road trip. If he doesn't come back by then, the Pens will probably place him on IR retroactively to the day he got injured.

Seeing as Crosby is still listed as DTD and not on IR, I doubt the Pens will rush to put Neal on IR - the Pens are often slow on such things, much to the annoyment of everyone in fantasy hockey leagues.
Neither Crosby or Neal will be going on IR as there's no need for that. IR is most often needed to make room to the 23-men roster to replace an injured player. But after the trade deadline roster size is unlimited so there's no need to put a player on IR in order to be able to replace him. Pens aren't that close to cap either so they don't need to use LTIR cap space so that's another reason why there's no need to put either Crosby or Neal on IR.

Thx Carcillo... I've been waiting for Crosby to be placed on IR but what you're saying makes a lot of sense!
Ya the pens are brutal for putting players on IR. in my main league in sig my lead has dwindled with injuries to Crosby, Neal, Getz, letang and hossa.. And we have a 30 day wait for players to be eligible to return once you take them out of your lineup. I dropped Sid and Neal pretty much straight away as I knew they wouldn't be going on IR but now if they return in the regular season I can't put them back in my lineup. Sucks, but had to be done!
