where will he fit in the seemingly revitalized Caps lineup? does he re-sign? looking at him as part of trade coming my way, but if he only see 3rd line duty i may not consider him...

He has 2 more years left after this, he requested a trade from Nashville, didn't get moved as a UFA.

I'd say he will see top 6 minutes sooner than later. He is the picture of consistency (season-to-season, not game-to-game). Definitely a 60-point forward but could push 70 if he clicks on one of the top lines in Washington.

I'm pretty confident they will put him on the 2nd line at some point. They may have placed him in the 3rd line to start as to not disrupt the chemistry that the top lines were finally showing. With a bit of a scoring slump he will find himself worked into the top 6.

    Has he ever hit 60?

I own the guy, but I'm going to treat him as a solid 50+ guy with upside. Lots of that depends on his PP assignment.

Well, pro-rated he's definitely a 60+ player. Problem is, he's hardly ever played a full season. But he's hit high 50s more than once in seasons shortened by injuries.

In my keeper format, he's a 50+ player. But in a format that allows you to sit players (such as my one-year league) he is better than that.

He may have more offensive opportunity in Was, but I'd keep treating him basically the same as before the trade.

He has never hit 60, but he has also never played a full 82-game season. His career average, prorated puts him at 55-points/season. Take out his rookie/sophmore years and that puts him at 58-points/season. Also, consider that those took place in an offence stifling environment like Nashville. Put him in Washington and I truly believe he is a lock for 60 points... and it wouldn't surprise me to see him hit that number in only 70-games played.

Unless he gets traded during the offseason, his salary will impact Washington as they will most likely be too close to the cap to resign Ribs. That being said, I feel he will play on the second line with PP1 duties but without Ribiero next year, he won't really get better totals than he did with the Preds IMO.

So I hear Erat wanted to be traded out of Nashville. Can anyone confirm?

Nearly a decade's worth of production between 49-57 points but that's in Nashville. You can't necessarily count on him for more but it makes a nice little gamble, especially if the Caps can't re-sign Ribeiro and that pushes Erat onto PP1 next year.

Gudbranson pounded Erat into the boards, was an ugly hit and probably a suspension coming. Erat needed help off the ice. He got crunched. Looks like his leg got caught up in the hit and not to mention his head. So who knows, but it does not look good for Erat at the moment.

I've read that quite a few places. He quietly asked for a trade and Nashville obliged (and did pretty well with the return too)
