    Default Brodin

He's available in my league as a free agent...

    two questions.

    1) Would you grab him?

    2) If so who would you drop?

Definitely pick him up. I would drop Sproul. He's a good prospect but a long way from reaching his potential. Brodin is producing now. At an exceptionally high level, especially for a 19 year-old. He is a special player and will be a superstar for years to come. I have done a lot of research on this kid and there are a lot of Lidstrom comparisons. Just in the way he plays the game and how he always makes the right decisions. He's getting Calder consideration and he's only put up 9 points in 33 games. That's unheard of. Pick him up you won't regret it.

Would you drop Sproul or Mrazek?

Hold onto Mrazek. He's the future in Detroit and is extremely talented. Might not be for another 4 years before he takes over but he will some day. And when he does it's game for the rest of the league. The organization is really big on him. He won top goalie at the 2012 WJCs. Here is a sample of his work from the tournament. Some of the most ridiculous saves I have ever seen. Pure robbery.

Brodin and Mrazek will be stars in this league and are must owns. Won't be long before they're household names.

First off I don't think brodin will ever be a "superstar." Yes he is looking very solid but he is most assuredly going to be more ryan mcdonagh than erik karlsson. Sproul and Murphy IMO both have higher offensive potential but Brodin has already established himself as a fixture on the Wild blue line. If only for that reason, I think you can drop either Murphy or Sproul for Brodin. I would actually lean towards dropping Murphy as Sprouls development has been much more impressive.
