I would have liked Riberio as well. Dallas is bonafide seller now though, the caps may wait till the last minute for ribs, and TO doesn't want to give up roster players.

OR WILL HE BE? Hmmm. So start the conspiracy theorists.

Great move by Vancouver. Well worth the risk.

The can always play Kesler on line 3, and Roy on line 2, essentially having lines 2a/2b.

Kesler can re-join the twins on PP1, and Roy can center PP2 with Burrows and another player.

If they can add Clowe now, that's even better. Although, why would SJ part with him now that they have re-joined the playoff mix.

I'm not a Canucks fan at all, but I think this is a semi-bold move by Gillis, and worth what he paid.

Good for the Stars for getting decent return on both Morrow and Roy.

    Cheers.

Well Kesler can (and has) played wing so perhaps they shift him there and keep Roy up the middle. Also possible that they have Kesler take draws then slide over to the wing because he's a superior faceoff man to Roy.

Really though, the point of the deal is to enhance depth and versatility.

I thought Roy would go MUCH cheaper since he'd be an impending FA. I know all the Nuck fans RAVED about Connauton so I'm surprised to hear some say it's a cheap price for a band-aid boy. Good return for Dallas but I think Vancouver could have done worse. Meh on both fronts.
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

Fantasy wise, I don't know how much better this is for Roy. I think his 70-80 point days are over. I guess a slight increase, but that will be short lived since Kesler is back fairly soon.

Raymond, Higgins, Kassian, Burrows, Raymond...none of these guys get me excited and I wouldn't expect consistency from Roy with Vancouver.

The announcers last night mentioned a possible rift in the dressing room between Clowe and Thornton - speculation. Which could be the reason.

Yeah, but mostly because of Brunner's splits: 16 in 19 @ Home vs. 6 in 16 on Road. Detroit has more road games coming up and Brunner is already slumping.

Vancouver fans are going to lose their minds when they exit in the first round.

I'm sorry, at the moment there are very few teams in the west's playoff picture that I can see Vancouver beating in a 7 game series. And if they do, it will be a result of sound goaltending.

Schroeder was sent to the AHL. My GUESS is this means Kesler is back next game and Roy plays third line center.
