Default Letang - thinking of trading him

Thinking of of trading Letang fo a goalie, my question is, what goalie would you consider fair value straight up for Letang? League in sig. I can keep 6 forwards, 4 defence, 2 goalies next year.
    12 team points only keeper (G = 1, A = 1, W = 2, SO = 2)
Dress 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, 2 goalies, weekly starts
    Roster limit - 20 plus 4 prospects

In your particular scoring format, defensemen aren't really that valuable.

I'd be happy to trade Letang for any top 5 goalie who will consistently deliver 35+ wins. Aim for Rask/Rinne/Price/Fleury/Quick... the latter is a fantastic buy-low right now.

I also think it's a wise move on your part dealing Letang who will likely be a bandaid boy for the rest of his career.

While I agree with you on injury-prone players and taking more stable options, I think it's premature to assume he is a band-aid. As of right now, I have no thoughts of moving him. He is only one season removed from a full 82-game season, and having a broken toe has no correlation to being a "band aid"... rather, it's just bad luck (I'm aware he was just out with a nagging LBI, but I still think we are jumping the gun a bit).

Needless to say, however, that I agree with your suggestion. In this league and format, I'd gladly jump on a top-5 goalie for Letang.

Considering he COULD score 70 points as a defenceman I would think anyone below a top 5 goalie would be a non-starter.

I would trade Yandle instead. Letang's time missed last year was due to a concussion, and this year he's been out twice both times due to groin issues.. That's more related to the long layoff and not playing during the lockout rather than being a bandaid. The way he plays he will have bumps and bruises but he is not gonna be another mike green. Personally, I think he can (and will) produce a ppg season in the near future. This season he looked very rusty for the first month or so and still has 28 pts in 28 gms. I would not trade him, but it is important to note I am prolly the biggest Letang fanboy on this site haha so I may be slightly biased.
