This trade depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Ward will still hold plenty value when he returns.

Elliott is basically useless. What does your goalie situation look like?

Where are abouts would these picks be projected in the 1st,2nd round?

Strome is a nice catch. So assuming you're ok in goal, I could see making this trade. If trading away Ward leaves the bucket empty I would probably not make this particular move.

Give me side A. Side B worsens your goalie situation. Elliott isn't a starter. He signed a contract with the Blues last year, so it's not like he'll get run behind Allen, especially if Halak isn't moved. You could draft a goalie with your picks, but thats a major gamble. Ward is still one of the better fantasy goalies to own. If you move him in a deal, you should be getting a starting, clear cut # 1 goalie back, not a "maybe."

Elliott is think is done. Everything else is unproven talent even though Strome is a great prospect.
Ward is a proven G on a team that is starting to improve greatly. It's really too bad he got injured this year.
I'm guessing you're getting side A as you have Elliott and Strome on your roster.

I personally like Ward more than Bryz and you already have Crosby, Lecavalier, and Koivu at C.

You could probably trade Bryz or wait and see what the universe holds for him next year.

Also depends on what that 1st round position is? If top 3, may take side B in this deal assuming that's for the 2013 draft this year.

Looks to me like it matches the team in his signature.

I think I would do that trade in your 7x5 league - Bryz is ephermeral and I think Ward locks down an important position for you in a 16 team league. Elliott as Johnny suggests is pretty much worthless so the deal is Stome and those picks. you have to pay to get - I don't think Ward gets cheaper going forward.

I accepted the trade. I'll end up with Ward, parting with strome and B. Elliot along with the picks

Everyone said Elliot was useless, and the poll is 7-0 for Cam Ward's side.

    no it doesnt...

Elliot will still play 2nd string to Halak, and maybe even Allen....and If he isnt in St. Louis he will not play this well....St Louis, Nashville, Pheonix make goalies look good....

    Well obviously -

but that's not quite what I'm talking about - I'm talking about his usefulness in the playoffs. 3 SO in a row is quite valuable this time of year in fantasy leagues.

Probably should have made it more clear that you would be gunning for this year as well.

Even then, at the time Elliot was looking more like the goalie he's been for the majority of his career as opposed to the one from last year. Yes these last 3 starts would be extremely useful in the playoffs, but Ward remains the best player in the deal and it puts you in a better position for the future.

    Hindsight is always 20-20.
