Default Tarasenko - Need talent analysis

    Hi there,

I value you guys opinion over anyone else, therefore, this post! I have an offer on the table that has a chance of locking me a win THIS year in my pool. Tarasenko is part of the deal. Our pool is dynasty, I will be in it for the next 15 years and I don't want to be known as the guy who traded away a superstar.

    What is Tarsenko really worth?
What is his realistic upside / lowside?
    He's in a Monster player?
Or is he a sell high rookie based on his start this year?
Without discussing the details of the trade here, what can you tell me about Tarasenko?

Hard to help you out without specifics about the trade.

We're all among friends, are we not?

I wouldn't trade Tarasenko unless i was sure to win it all.

He's going to be a superstar. I just started a rebuild a couple weeks ago and I picked him up earlier inthe season and will be keeping 100%.

Tara is a surefire fantasy hockey roto and points stud. I think his realistic upside is a PPG.

I agree that's it is very difficult to say too much without knowing what you are getting back in return, and how confident you are that you'll win the pool this year if you make the deal....

It's been said before but I'll say it again: the last time I checked your job was TO WIN YOUR POOL. Therefore, as long as you are as certain as certain can be that the deal will put you over the top, pull the @#$% trigger. He's not the last great prospect you will ever see.

BTW, I traded RNH late last year but it sealed the deal - I won. So, I do walk the talk.

My advice. Go to the search tab atop this page, and type in his name, and read all the posts with his name in it. There was lots written on him in the late summer and through the fall. Or google scouting reports on the kid. Personally, I see him as a 80-85 point player. Correct me if i'm wrong, but has he not had three concussions already in his career?? Food for thought.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

Yes, did that already, but last post dated from before his concussion, exactly to my point. Since then, nothing, hence this post.

If I win, I'm at peace with the move. but if I don't and end up seeing a point per game guy grow into someone else's team while I rot in last place, I'll never get over it.

    Trade is:
    MY
    Bobby Ryan
    Steve Ott
    Tarasenko

    for HIS

    Evander Kane
    Blake Wheeler
    Jamie McGinn

Keep in mind its Dynasty, cap hit with multi cats roto. It all boils down to this (without getting into details)
    Kane > Ryan (I win)
Wheeler > Ott (by a very slim margin)
    McGinn <<< Tarasenko

But Kanes SOG and Wheeler's multicat overall scoring might pull me up a few spots. Next year, Wheeler will probably reach 4 or 5 millions cap adding to my cap nightmare.

I don't think this is a bad deal anyway, as Kane himself is a budding superstar (real and fantasy). Can you get him to sweeten the pot if he is so high on Tarasenko?

Only concussion I'm aware of is the one he suffered recently in the NHL and I've been following Tarasenko closely since the 09-10 season where he was draft eligible. Some people think that he had a concussion in Russia this season but he passed the protocol tests and missed a couple games as a precaution.

No, can't sweeten, as a matter of fact, he's leaning towards prying a late draft out of me.
