Sure didn't look good. Anything definitive?

All I've heard is further evaluation on Sunday. Tough call for owners who make lineup decisions tonight. Based on what I saw...I'd say......sit him.

Anyone have any updates? My hold on to first has dwindled considerably and I need him back.

Perhaps if I sent him an email explaining what's at stake for me, he'll clamp his jaw, grimace, and get back out there.

As a Brodeur owner I hope he comes back soon, this losing streak of the devils is killing me.

Thanks for posting, I've been wondering about updates myself. Got both Kovy and Lecavalier, can drop only one, and have to decide by noon on the 4th which one. Struggling to stay in 2nd in my pool. So yeah, in your e-mail, let him know that 2 of us need him back, or at least some idea how he's doing.

    From Devils' beatwriter Tom Guilitti:
DeBoer said right wing Ilya Kovalchuk, who is out two to four weeks with a right shoulder injury, is “in rehabbing on a daily basis.” The Devils are not planning on having him back for this weekend, though, and it sounds like it’s going to be closer to the four-week estimate than two.
“He’s going to be back,” DeBoer said. “That’s on the horizon, but it’s not in the near future and that’s something that we can’t control. The 20 guys that we’re going to put on the ice Thursday night and again on the weekend are the guys that have to get the job done.”
He was just dropped in my league, but our playoffs started yesterday...

    everfeb, I assume you're in a one-year league. If it's a keeper, no way I'd drop Kovalchuk,

No, Not a keeper, just a 1-yr pool, ppg, 27 man rosters where we get a few trades each season. My last trade coming up, with 5 guys hurt (vanek, zberg, kovy, vinny, hossa (should play next game) and I can only drop one. Trying to figure which of these will be out the longest. In 2nd now but due to injury situation won't be able to hold it and will be lucky to get 3rd
Note to myself...all these guys are older.

    Tuesday 4/9 update:

Kovalchuk (right shoulder) took to the ice Tuesday, the Star-Ledger reports.
Recommendation: The report notes that Kovalchuk skated at full speed Tuesday, though he did not engage in any contact. It's a step in the right direction for the right winger -- who hurt his shoulder on March 23 -- but there is still no timetable for his return to action.

    more from twitter:

Naoko Funayama ‏@NaokoFunayama 12m Still no Kovalchuk for Devils. Doesn't sound optimistic about playing Friday vs #Sens either.

Joe Haggerty ‏@HackswithHaggs 8m Ilya Kovalchuk said "I don't think so" when asked he'll be playing tonight. Looks like Bruins are catching a break in NJ tonight #BruinsTalk

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice 14m Kovalchuk said he did morr today and it was "a step in the right direction", but he still hasn't attempted one-timers.

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice 17m Kovalchuk said he will talk to doctor and staff, but doesn't think he will play Friday vs. Ottawa.
