    Default Datsyuk for Benn

    G, A, STPTS, +/-, PIM

Who do you like better over next 3 years period? The rest of this season is important too. I have Datsyuk, who is my favourite player, and have been offered Benn for him. I am in 2nd place and have a decent chance of winning. Do you guys think Datsyuk will outperform Benn the rest of the year? Long-term, it's clearer who I want, not so much next year but after that. Do I sacrifice now for long-term benefit? I'm very tempted, very very very. But I love Datsyuk.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

I like Benn here. Datsyuk is a special player but you will have Benn on the rise for many years. PIM of course helps Benn's cause

I accepted. Pains me to lose Datsyuk but this feels like the right move.

next year is Datsyuk's last, so I would have made that deal too

Yeah, that factor was definitely a big player in my decision. It's not 100% certain but I heard the rumours too.

I figured Benn is 23 and Datsyuk is 34 and even if Datsyuk outperforms Benn over the next couple of years, it won't be by much. Also it's a bit of a salary gain as Benn makes 5.25 mil while Datsyuk makes 6.7 mil. Really the main reason I was hesitant was because I love Datsyuk and I've had him on my roster for 6 years so it was an emotional trade. This move reminds me of when I traded Iginla 2 years ago for Tavares, who was in his 2nd year at the time and wasn't doing much so I managed to snag him off his impatient owner.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
