    Default Holy Frk!

Martin Frk had a big first night of the 2013 playoffs. 5 goals and 3 assists. Pretty freaking awesome. Must help playing with 2 of the top 3 North American skaters on your line. He's been lights out this year and being in such a good program with Detroit makes me think this guy will most definitely succeed when he is ready.

He certainly has raw skill but Detroit has their work cut out for them. I will conceed that he's made strides this year but I typically find him one of the most frustrating players to watch. His discipline is abysmal and his hockey IQ seems lacking at times......subject to massive brain farts! When you've got his raw skills and you're lining up with Drouin and Mackinnon things tend to look very rosy but I'm hedging my bets against this kid for the time being. He'll need a number of years of AHL seasoning before he gets a sniff at the NHL level.

Don't get overly excited based on this years production!

When Frk was drafted and we (Wings fans) saw him at the development camp, the consensus was five years minimum before he's ready for the NHL. He has A LOT to work on. You could put a screaming goat next to Drouin and MacKinnon and it would still score a whole bunch.

If you are a Wings fan, you know they like to keep their prospects in the AHL for at least 2 years (normally) so its a safe bet to say that Frk is at least 3 years from cracking the Wings lineup, at best.

There's no denying his skill though. Before MacKinnon and Drouin showed up, he was the go to guy for the Moose for offense, when he was healthy.

On a side note, the Metro Centre was absolutely insane last night. There was over $30 grand sold in 50/50 tickets. Crazy madness.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

Very jealous....I'm out of the country and couldn't be there. Hopefully there's still hockey to see when I get back!

I know his development will take awhile, but at least we are seeing some good flashes here. He was doing quite well before Mackinnon and Drouin. So that's a plus. I just love that it's Detroit who has him. I think they'll do wonders with him over a few years.

nothing that wasn't expected. Last year in the QMJHL playing a really weak team in this series. Average prospect.

While this is nice, there's certainly a long way to go for Frk as you guys mentioned. I mean, he's a pretty solid prospect but nothing great IMO.

exactly...Frk has a heck of a shot, but can't skate and is a major project...even if he becomes a regular NHLer someday (which is no guarantee), I wouldn't expect him to put up crazy numbers in the NHL. I see maybe 25 goals and 10-15 assists as his NHL upside, so hardly even worth talking about.

I think he can be a 50-55 point guy with 30 goals and 25 assists if all goes well
