Default Granlund waiver claim? Keeper upgrade?

    12 teams, keep any 14, 2C/1RW/1LW/2W/4D/2UTIL/2G/6Bench
    H2H, G, A, P, +/-, PIM, PPP, W, L, GAA, SV%, SO

I won't be making playoffs and am in the middle of a rebuild. Team as follows:

C: B. Richards, RNH, Huberdeau, Roy
    LW: Eriksson, JVR, McDonald
    RW: Tarasenko, Hodgson, Simmonds, Setoguchi
D: Shattenkirk, Yandle, Schultz, Green, Zidlicky
G: Fasth, Markstrom, Lehner, Khudobin, Elliot

    IR: Kesler

    Currently thinking about keepering:

    C: Richards, Kesler, RNH, Huberdeau
    LW: Eriksson, JVR
    RW: Tarasenko, Hodgson, Simmonds
    D: Shattenkirk, Yandle, Schultz
    G: Fasth, Markstrom

Might consider Lehner over Fasth depending on how the rest of the season goes.

    7 round draft - I have a first, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds.

So would Granlund be working making a claim for to keep given my teams rebuilding state? Any suggestions on my keepers as it stands?

Actually, I should note that there is a loser bracket. Top 6 make playoffs, bottom 6 play for draft position. So 7th place overall gets the 1st overall pick, while 12th place overall gets the 6th pick.

Keeping that in mine, I would be losing an active player that could help me in the loser bracket unless Granlund were to get called up again.

I like Granlund as a long term guy but I would stick with what you have for the rest of the year. You have some solid long term keepers right now and they will help you in your attempt to grab that 7th place and 1st overall pick this year.
All in all I would stick with what you have and target Granlund with one of your early draft picks.
    All the best!
