D'Agostini is a solid player and he should fit well in NJ. He should improve on his numbers considerably. This hurts their farm team players in the short run (Josefson comes to mind even if D'Agostini is a winger)

    The Magnificent One

    Default Devils acquire D’Agostini

    for a 4th or 5th rounder in 2015 and a 7th from stl.

basically if they sign him as he is a UFA this summer. stl will get NJ's 4th rounder and nj will get there 7th. not a bad move all around. he has put up a nice amount of points so far and has scored 20 goals in a season. he hasnt done much for STL this season.

they havent figured out which line he will play in but will play sat vs FLA. Lou said he believes he can be a second liner but up to the coach where he will play.

Devils are all about the sloppy seconds this year and I think it's working for them.

For that price point NJ can afford to "swing and miss" frankly. 2nd/3rd line "tweeners" are extra guys you really want to have on you roster...especially when it's a tad thin up front.

Great for D'Agostini as he wasn't getting any kind of opportunity in STL. This can only help.

I like this move a lot for the Devils - hopefully D'ago makes it work for him - that would be nice to see.

Good for D'Agostini....he deserves a shot in an offensive role and hopefully the Devils can give it to him.

I have felt that since there was a lockout, there could be a bold trade or two made by borderline playoff and borderline profitable teams this season, in order to make the playoffs and ensure a profit. Hopefully all these already completed trades are leading up to something spectacular.

Low risk and possibly high reward if D'Agostini pans out. It was good of the Blues to move him out. The guy has pretty much been in a bad spot for the past two seasons.

That is 2 absolutely brilliant moves by the Devils in the last month. Low Risk, how bout no risk. Couple mid rd picks that's nothing and in return you get pretty much 2 guaranteed NHLers, one with tonnes of upside. Very astute in my books.

Forgot about that. Another solid serviceable NHLer. There's a reason there perennial contenders. Having Brodure between the pipes can't hurt either.
